Welcome to Mexerica !
On another thread some are saying how great President George W. Bush has been in dealing with illegal aliens and how he has built a fence. Such nonsense. Must be posters from the White House.
It didn't work.
I questioned the 14 million number myself. I would go so far as to say there are 14 million in Texas, California and Florida.
Still, good article by Pat. He certainly “gets it” on this issue.

Both had the same position: amnesty. That’s why they didn’t talk about it.
If you kick 14 million people out of the US, what will happen to the housing market?
And,lastly, any state, county or local police authority that fails to *fully* cooperate with the INS when an illegal is questioned/detained should lose at least 50% of *whatever* Federal funds it might be getting until they demonstrate full cooperation.
Don't know about the housing market but the rate of serious crime would drop dramatically in any area that was rid of illegals.LA being just *one* example.
Except that the powers that be would most likely round you up while confiscating and eliminating your proof of citizenship under your proposal. This would go for anyone they would deem inconvenient. Any law they deem bad they would enforce badly, guaranteed.
We live in a democracy, if the people truly wanted to deport the illegals, they would. As it stands the allegedly anti-illegal immigration party, nominated a pro-amnesty candidate. Clearly the voters, even conservative voters, could care less about illegal immigration.
In survey after survey illegal immigration is ranked behind the economy, Iraq war, environmental issues, terrorism, and social issues in terms of importance to voters. People blame the government, but its their fault for not forcing the government to act. We dont need 80% of the population to agree with us, we need 10% of the population to make this their number one issue.
So these "powers" would, among other things,go to the capital city of the State in which I was born and literally *rip* the official record of my birth there out of their records?
We’ve been invaded by Mexico and points south, with the result that the country has been hijacked without a shot being fired. Interestingly, we should see escalating squabbling between black and Hispanic groups for power. Blacks are already delusional about Obama and what it means for their lives. Expect worse to come, much worse. The loonies are running the asylum.
Great point and it shows why this stinker is such a winner for democrats. Hispanic voters put this near the top of their issue spectrum, everyone else puts it down at the bottom.
Then again ... that’s the case with a lot of issues with concentrated support.
Sorry, Dude. The R’s may have ended up with McAmnesty as our front-runner, but he was the default choice, not the conservative choice. There were some serious opposition from many sides anytime a more conservative candidate made any headway during the R primaries. No, our candidate was selected by the opposition. Zero and McAmnesty are like walnuts and pecans, more alike than different. However they are both most certainly NUTS!
