Unlike Governor Palin, President Bush did not need to be interviewed in front of a turkey slaughter for the media to attack him over turkeys. As part of an annual tradition at the White House, President Bush pardoned two fortunate turkeys, Pecan and Pumpkin, on Wednesday.
Media outlets like MSNBC, ABC, and the Washington Post used the opportunity to make the Bush look not only clownish but also useless and heartless.

From RealClearPolitics:
"Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called 'too close to infanticide.' Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed he would not want his daughters to be 'punished with a baby' because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life."

=====Dubya’s approval ratings stink, the economy stinks, being at war stinks, but man, does he have this National Turkey thing down.======
When did reporting on a presidential tradition become an opportunity to bash the president? Seems like it’s a straightforward reporting assignment. Since when did calling the president ‘dubya’ become acceptable journalistic practice?
The media and liberal voters simply do not care how we look to the world if a Republican is in the WH. Of course they should complain and battle his policies if they disagree, but the RELENTLESS and often unfounded criticism of Bush is staggering and unprecedented. Just look at how the Clinton turkey pardon is treated in this article--like he's a winner, breezily going through the silly traditions of the presidency, above it all, a survivor--because surviving is the most important thing of all, the personal survival of one liberal person, and to heck with that silly "honor" thing.
The press has been so nice to Bush in terms of his handling of the transfer of power because they're shifting gears, from attack mode to coddling, praising mode in their treatment of the president. Anyone who actually believes the MSM are objective is on something.
How about if the White House responded in just that manner? When is our side going to stop taking crap from these clymers?
This has happened every year that I can remember. But for some reason they are belittling it this year.
I never thought I could despise a group of people more than the media.
Since we have replaced all editors with snarky college students from UCLA and Berkeley.
At least turkeys have value in that they are good to eat. The same cannot be said for MSM so-called reporters.
You can make soup out of a turkey head. A WaPo talking head is nothing but fat and is useless.
The media are driven by evil forces. They’re becoming more and more savage.
I actually agree with them. This whole turkey pardon thing is stupid and nothing else. If I want to show mercy to my dinner I take a head shot.
Did everybody see this very different version of the Palin turkey interview?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGImLUgoAEQ
These people are going to be really bored in a few months. They keep trying to drag out Palin to beat on but that’s not getting traction.
Oops! Sorry. I sent these pics to the wrong thread. Please delete moderator. Thanks.
Yeah, no one saw the part of the interview when she was pardoning a turkey.
And I hope everyone who mocked her ate a full vegetarian Thanksgiving. And I doubt that very much.
NOTICE: He did NOT pardon the turkeys in the media!
On the other hand, he could have pardoned ALL the turkeys in the Untied States!! What would they have said then? Ya can’t win with the enemedia!
We are transferring many of the bad guys from Gitmo to Iraq at the end of the year. We should replace them with folks from the media.
I think most of them are enemy, and they definately don’t remind me of Americans....
“How about if the White House responded in just that manner? When is our side going to stop taking crap from these clymers? “
When we form a Consrvative third party, get ourselves funded and have our own litmus tests for office will we stop taking crap and move forward.
The Conservative agenda is no longer the Republican agenda. It’s over. We have to do for ourselves since we can no longer rely on Republicans.
“the RELENTLESS and often unfounded criticism of Bush is staggering and unprecedented. “ We can only hope to be half that successful in our relentless criticism of The One.
