Sarah Palin: A digital superstar
Politico ^ | Nov. 29, 2008 | Charles Mahtesian

Three weeks after the Republican ticket suffered a sweeping defeat at the polls, Sarah Palin continues to dominate search engine queries, cable news and online video sites.

The only American politician who generates comparable interest is President-elect Barack Obama. No one else is close.

Palin was the most popular Lycos search from the week she joined the ticket continuously through last Sunday, some two weeks after the election, when she was dethroned by Paris Hilton, the celebutante whom John McCain famously compared to Barack Obama.

The Alaska governor now ranks fourth, just one spot below Obama, on the weekly Lycos 50 list.

“People are still searching for her in record numbers,” said Kathy O’Reilly, a spokeswoman for Lycos. “How bizarre is that?

Sarah has earned the loyalty of millions of Americans. The fervor with which the left scorns her, proves what a threat she is to them. Sarah Palin is a fearless conservative warrior. As a conservative woman, I adopted the refrain of “I am Sarah Palin.” She is the only bright light that shined in this dismal election. She does have a big political future ahead of her. She was mobbed everywhere she gave an election speech. She has a huge grass roots following. The liars and spinners in the MSM can’t stop her, she speaks directly to the people, like Ronald Reagan did.

I think she was talking about the need for pictures of Sarah on this thread. JMO.

And the fans still love her...

However, I don?t think this continued fascination with her is necessarily good for our party

Why is that?

P.S. - I'm a Dickens fan myself. I love the female leads in his novels. It would be hard to pick one favorite female or novel.
Though Bleak House, Little Dorrit and Tale of Two Cities would be near the top.

Yep, her celebrity status doesn't seem to be fading. She can still draw a crowd -- even at a local basketball tournament...

Thank goodness this isn't a Walmart in Long Island.

“I’m guessing Kathy doesn’t understand the hotness factor”

That’s funny, when you type her name in at yahoo, and some the ‘related searches’ come up at the top of the screen the first one is ‘Sarah Palin Hot Photo’.

I actually don’t know how I feel about that one.

Thanks for the great pics. The Great Alaska Shootout isn’t the tournament it used to be when the elite college programs made the trek up to Alaska but I hope she enjoyed the games, being the fan of the sport that she is.

it was not a sweeping defeat....considering the zero had over $600,000,000 in his campaign alone, not to mention all the pacs etc....to McCains somewhat piddling amt...and considering that zero was running for two years....and considering that not one single hard question was ever asked of him.....<P “sweeping defeat”?...hardly...zero won by a little more than the hated Bush......and if McCain had run a brigher campaign instead of one he didn’t think he could win , we would be saying hello Ms Vice President...

My pleasure. I had just posted a long refutation to that roamer guy on another thread and it was removed by the moderator! I’m bummed because I went through his arguments that Palin wasn’t fiscally conservative one by one! And now the post has disappeared...

I would have liked to have read your post. Very unfortunate that you would be singled out....totally unjustified IMO.

You did a great job on the thread. Your posts were informative and the links were great. I had not watched the Armstrong Williams interview which I thought was extremely insightful. I'm forwarding those to others in my family who I know would enjoy them.

Take care and keep at it,

Al

I've never had that happen to me before. It's so bizarre because it's not as if they shut down the thread. Someone else posted after me. I wasn't writing anything inflamatory either. I was laying out the case for her fiscal conservatism. I'm tempted to post it again, but I might get in serious trouble if I did.
