Did God play a role in the election of Barack Obama, and could the Democrat even be God's sovereign choice for our next president?
The answers to those questions vary widely, depending on who is doing the answering.
Among those praising the heavens for Obama's victory was Larry Younginer of suburban Atlanta, who the Chicago Tribune reports kneeling at his church and praying the day after Obama's victory.
"Lord, we have again come to you," Younginger prayed, "and you have heard our cries from heaven, and you have sent us again from the state called Illinois a man called Barack to heal our land."
The Rev. Randolph Bracy Jr. at New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando, told the Orlando Sentinel that the victory of a young and inexperienced Obama was like the victory of the biblical boy, David, over the giant, Goliath.

Mmmmm. So Obama is sent from God, and Bush is sent from ... Sounds like very dangerous theology to me.
I am sure that prayer had to be scraped off the ceiling because that is as far as it went.
God hears the cries alright but not from the unrighteous it is the cries of 50 million slaughtered babies. Just like the blood of Abel cried out to him.
I wonder if these people can even see the noses on their faces.
This is precisely why our Founders didn't grant to vote to those who were irresponsible and incapable of self support.

God always ordains every authority under heaven....this is not news. The reason God has placed Obama as president is to bring Americans to repentance and turn back to God. This Reverand saying that God will bless America through Obama is a false prophet.
How about, “God allowed”?

I always found the curious “Divine right of Kings meets the Ballot box” line of thought vexing, the issue can end up in either side of the ledger.
For example, the people choose Saul, the Lord chose David, however, Ahab and Ahaz were also Kings in Israel and they did that which was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and then even Christ was born under a Tyrant, Herrod, but claimed His Kingdom was not of this world.
Obama has done neither good nor ill as of yet, so if we look for the fruit to know a tree, we shall see what sort of fruit his time in Office produces and whether that comports with the Lord’s Will as expressed in the Scriptures and by using our Discernment...

What a coincidence: I, too, was on my knees praying BEFORE the election and AFTER the election (something even after years in campaigns & poliics I always held off doing — it seemed unseemly to pray to God for political victories) that God would still protect my country from The Murderists and Socialist Democrats.
As we say at Mass: “God, hear our prayer”.
Zero passes FOCA and all hell breaks loose.
He has a choice. If he makes the wrong choice, this country is in for an awakening.
God isn’t mocked.
God is in control of ALL things, even the election of obuma but not because He’s blessing us. Just as he sent plagues to Egypt to force Pharoah and the people of Egypt to repent and turn to God, so could be the election of obuma. That things could get SO bad we turn to God, cry out to him and THEN will he heal our land.

Maybe he’s using FR to archive his articles.
God doesn’t have a particular candidate. He gave us Free Will to make a choice between good and evil.

Hey that’s cool info about the number of posts/comments (although it sounds lopsided with posts vs. comments).
Forgive my ignorance and I’m sure it’s somewhere at Freep, but how does one find that info? And what do you consider to be the difference between the Freep Forum and The Freep Blog. Juz asking....
