Controversy continues to surround President-elect Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president, and a case involving his birth certificate waits for its day before the U.S. Supreme Court. A constitutional lawyer said were it to be discovered that Mr. Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen, it would have grave consequences for the nation.
According to the Constitution, a president must be a natural born citizen of the U.S. Mr. Obama's critics have failed to force him legally to produce his original birth certificate, and Mr. Obama has resisted any attempt to make him do so. Currently, only Hawaii Department of Health officials have access to Mr. Obama's original records.
Some of Mr. Obama's critics have said he was born in Kenya and have claimed he is a citizen of Kenya, Indonesia, or even a British subject.
Edwin Vieira, a constitutional lawyer who has practiced for 30 years and holds four degrees from Harvard, said if it were to be discovered Mr. Obama were not eligible for the presidency, it would cause many problems. They would be compounded if his ineligibility were discovered after he had been in office for a period of time.
"Let's assume he wasn't born in the U.S.," Mr. Vieira told The Bulletin. "What's the consequence? He will not be eligible. That means he cannot be elected validly. The people and the Electoral College cannot overcome this and the House of Representatives can't make him president. So what's the next step? He takes the oath of office, and assuming he's aware he's not a citizen, then it's a perjured oath."
Any appointments made by an ineligible president would have to be recalled, and their decisions would be invalidated.

If he's ineligible and he's sworn in, nobody will take the law seriously. Why pay taxes or not own slaves? The constitution has been revoked for lack of interest.

This would not be good for Barry. HE has the burden of proving he's a citizen. Not us. No birth certificate, no proof of natural born status and no curtains in the oval office.

Cort Wrotnowski stated that his resubmittal to SCOTUS MIGHT NOT HAVE been accepted and MAY HAVE BEEN sent to the US clearing house for an Anthrax threat - to insure it will not be seen by SCOTUS by Friday when the conference occurs.
Lan Lamphere is on right now stating that he talked to SCOTUS today and they say they HAVE NO IDEA what Cort is talking about.
WTF is going on?
We know three things:
1. Obama has something to hide (otherwise why didn’t he just spring for the $12.00 to get a valid copy instead of fraudulently doctoring up a fake one and posting it online).
2. Obama studied constitutional law at Harvard. He can’t claim he did not know that the President must be a natural-born citizen.
3. Given that Obama is most likely guilty of felony doctoring of his COLB and he’s defrauded the American people out of a legitimate election consisting of eligible candidates, one would think that the American people would begin to realize that this man is a snake.

The staff is very Democratic. I'm sure they are protecting Obama and the “dream.” But. delaying this issue will really hurt the USA as the matter will not go away and Obama will be held accountable for his qualifications. The longer the court delays, the more damage done to the USA.

I have ALWAYS said that SCOTUS NEEDS to look at this and decide one way or the other - at the VERY LEAST, they HAVE to define “natural born” citizen once and for all ...

SCOTUS HAS to make HARD decisions from time to time,such as Kelo v. New Haven, which allowed New Haven to confiscate property under Eminent Domain in order to give to a private developer.
While I VIOLENTLY disagree with that decision, I live with it - SCOTUS did its job (albeit incorrectly, IMO).
What I CANNOT live with is someone at SCOTUS screwing around with the process ...

If this has any credibility why not at least ONE respectable conservative or Republican pol, journalist, lawyer speaking up on the likelihood that it's possible that it could be true?
You guys cite the silence of the lib media on this issue why not include The Wash Times, Amer. Spectator, Human Events, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Thom. Sowell, Walt. Williams, etc etc etc etc.? Or are all they just apathetic and too "don't care"?

No, it's not SCOTUS' fault that Obammy refuses to disqualify himself. It's Obammy's fault. Any blame and consequence can be laid of his shoulders. So let's keep the record straight. It's Obammy's choice to try to bamboozle the public when he knows it isn't going to work. Apparently he's counting on his cabinet to certify his legitimacy, as he doesn't need to show any steenking birth certificate -- he does't need to prove his legitimacy to the public.
He is gambling on everyone being fearful of demanding his real birth certificate lest a civil war break out if he is removed from office once he is innaugurated.
He's playing the ol' chicken game with the presidency.
I disagree to the “do over”. The DNC (aka Howard Dean)knowingly put up an ineligible candidate, and thus, lose by forfeit. “Game, Set, Match” to McCain.
“Biden is a natural born citizen. His candidacy isn’t based on any lie - at least none which cover up Constitutional violations. If Obama is found to be ineligible then Biden will almost surely take his place.”
Biden was chosen by Obama and on a fraudulent ticket.
