Oh, he was probably quite liberal in many areas to begin with - but I think a lot of the lavish entitlement programs and foreign aid, many of which are related to his second term, were his attempt to show people that he was not the eeevil George Bush after all. Of course, he got no credit from the press for all the liberal things he did, either, so that didn’t work.

He did on liberal agendas and free trade and open borders
and spending us into this financial mess..appointing life long democrats to high office (paulson for one)..
