UK Telegraph ^ | December 1, 2008 | Louise Gray - Environmental Correspondent

Posted on 12/01/2008 7:54:15 PM PST by re_tail20

Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.

The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.

But the court would also fine countries or companies that fail to protect endangered species or degrade the natural environment and enforce the "right to a healthy environment".

The innovative idea is being presented to an audience of politicians, scientists and public figures for the first time at a symposium at the British Library.

The Telegraph actually has an “Environmental Correspondent”? It’s just as well our newspapers are going out of business before they create this job title.

Please post your threads with the original title.

If you had searched on the title, you would have found that I posted this, correctly, yesterday.

I did a preliminary search, and nothing came up, so it slipped through somehow.

But I will keep a sharper eye out and not alter the title anymore. Thanks.

I’ll bet those “lawyers” can already smell those big bucks they’re about to make extorting money from people via Algore’s “climate change” scam.

The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.

Wih exemptions for China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, etc., of course.

In practice, the body would end up enforcing international agrements on one country and one country only, one that begins and ends wih the letter "A" and isn't Angola or Andorra or Argentina.
