I wonder if the current approach for preserving Christian American traditions is the right one.

I do see your point but for me it is. Using Europe as an example I believe we have to to preserve our freedom.

Yes, Europe is abandoning Christianity, and that’s not working.

The Left wishes to impose behavior upon the citizens, the Right wishes to remove those Liberal impositions. But the Left argues that the Right is attempting to impose Christian values whereas they are merely coincidental. For example, I think abortion is inhumane, others will state it is in violation of the tenets of their Faith. Some folks argue that Christianity is being eliminated from the public school system, but it should be argued that it is Socialism/Liberalism that is burning the pages of history through the elimination of America’s Christian heritage.

In the battle to prevent the Liberals from controlling our lives, we should avoid designations that confine us to the dogma: “It’s the Judeo-Christian way or the highway”. They crucified Bush in this way, and they will do the same to others because they know it works — the Right becomes paralyzed, and the Left spins an increasing web of shackles. The media and political templates that are used against the Right to discredit good people and silence new ideas need to be rendered ineffective and useless.

The foundation of truth may lie within our Faith, but it’s the Constitution that will provide us the freedom to exercise our Faith freely. Of course, I’m stating the obvious, but it’s rare that I get the impression the GOP is concerned about the Constitution. Instead, the GOP is too often acquiescing to the interests of Liberalism and Socialism. The declaration, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, is lost — we need to find it and talk about it.

I agree-seeing Europe as an example, I’d say that if we don’t actively fight for traditional Judeo-Christian principles, we will lose them. Islam understands this, although to say the very least, true Christianity opposes the means by which they fight to preserve (and spread) their values. Europe’s laissez-faire attitude towards Christianity and tradition led to the cultural vacuum which Islam is filling. And now, Christianity is actively opposed in most sectors of life-it’s now considered something to be kept “in the closet” of the church walls.

Even if we actively fight for the preservation of the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our country was founded, I don’t see any danger of the US ever becoming a Christian theocracy-the constant push-pull of the culture war would prevent that from ever happening. But the left wants these principles completely cast out from public life, though it’s no more unreasonable for Christian values to inform a Christian’s politics than it is for those of any other “special interest group” to inform theirs.
