Well, to be honest, it’s my reading of the situation. Contacts with any of his family members havve been closely watched and controlled. The Illegal great aunt in Boston said she couldn’t tell The Times anything about Obama before election day—and then she was moved to a safe location in another city and has stayed out of sight ever since. The African grandmother gave one story to the press in 2007, about the whole family being Muslim, then last summer said they were Christian, and now, as you say, she has been squirreled away. Indeed it seems as if anyone in Kenya who knows anything is being sealed away from the press.
