So, Harry Reid doesn't want to smell his bosses?

I don't think I want to smell my boss either. Just sayin'

Actually, there is a lot of truth to this. In pre-air conditioning times, a lot of indoor activities were avoided because large groups of people just smelled horrible.

I guess it’s hard for him to remember that he works for us, and that we the people are not mere peasants. Shoot, why didn’t they install showers and bathtubs? And while they were at it, have little bottles of deoderant for the masses.

http://www.leftjustified.org/leftjust/lib/sc/ht/const/index.html

“So the convention met, on May 25, 1787, at the onset of summer heat in Philadelphia....The Convention worked in absolute secrecy, by vote of a majority of it’s members. Sentries were posted around the building and windows and doors were shut up tight.”

Yes, I know—comparing Reid & Co. to the Framers is like comparing roosting hens to eagles.
