It’s tearing the country apart right now.

I served in a jury pool a couple of weeks ago...about 30% of the people there could not speak English. They were all dismissed (Another perk of being a citizen without being able to speak English..no jury duty!)

A few non-English speakers apparently didn’t hear the call for them to leave, and they piped up during the day over how they could not speak or understand any English. Of course, I asked in a very loud voice each time, “How are you a citizen then if you cannot speak English?”

No one seemed to be too concerned.

You’re lucky that you weren’t arrested for a ‘hate crime’ for daring to suggest that an American citizen should speak English.

I agree it is tearing things apart and it needs to be stopped fast, and rolled back. I have little hope that things will improve over the next four years, however.

Thank you though for doing your civic duty and for standing up for what’s right.
