They love to ride in our shadow, bashing us, ridiculing our every move yet mooching from our success. Any failure is our fault, any success is theirs, use the Balkans or even the Cold War as an example. But at the end of the day, the truth is obvious. We are the glue that keeps it together, and even they know this. We are the ones paying the disproportionate price in every aspect and we are the ones leading the pact, with them tucked safely under our wings. When push comes to shove, they understand very well that Iran isn't their friend, that Belarus is a dictatorship, the Russia today is a mild version of the former Soviet Union, or that Kaddafi is only playing along nicely because he knows we hold an axe over his head. So, for years we were hearing how ALL the Europeans oppose us. How ALL their leaders were against it. How missile defense will destabilize the world, cause a new arms race, and that the threat is just a figment of George Bush's imagination. In the end while they spew their typical "imperialism, oil cowboy" crap sit in the same boat with us, they just don't want to contribute, and hate it when they are called out for what they are.

There is only a hand full of nations in Europe that carry their own weight.

Many are hoping this economic pullback will bring down the USA, however the biggest hits will be on the emerging and former communist states. The USA will be the one country left standing and will own the planet.

“There is only a hand full of nations in Europe that carry their own weight”

And they are our friends east of Germany, who understand life without freedom. Talk to anyone who lived under communist dictatorships and they know the value of America having their back.

Insanity rules in the beltway.

NATO should install their stupid shields where the sun don’t shine.

let’s assume that Iran has stupid ass missiles - which is not at all obvious: wht not install the “shield” closer to the action - Iran—you know like in the “friendly allies” states of Saudi Arabia and Egypt? How about Afghanistan where our treasure has been depleted fighting an endless war agasitn madmen for a bunch of madmen?

No - the stuck on stupid bunch install billions in military weaponry in central europe at the throats of our allies the Russians...and yes they are our allies in the WOT.

“There is only a hand full of nations in Europe that carry their own weight.”

Yeah and that nation - Serbia - was bombed to smithereens on the orders of the Clinton maniac.

I do not trust NATO any more-—why should anyone?

“They love to ride in our shadow”

Given the first fact that the US of A go down the drain at the moment, it’s not all that funny to ride in that shadow.

The other fact: It was W who came up with the ‘one superpower’ doctrine in 2002 and you Sir suposedly elected the bunch that proudly wanted to do everything and all to be the one nation that leads all others !

You should stop the bitching and pick yourselfs up (when you are ready falling).
