OK, this is a real bill.

You can see it's status here...

But it went into committee on 2/21/08 and hasn't come out yet, so I think it's probably intentionally bottled up.

Isn’t it possible to make your own ammunition?

I remember a neighbot who used to do that. He was a gun collector, and found he could save money making his own.

So, is that the date that they are going to come for it??? Stick guns in our faces and search every house?

Nope.

If you're determined to be in breach of the peace and prosperity code, you will be prevented from buying insurance, or renewing your drivers license, or paying taxes on your properties (which will be seized for nonpayment), or receiving medical care, etc. etc. etc Until you comply with the legal requirements of proving beyond a doubt that you do not possess any prohibited materials.

And the onus will be on you to prove your innocence once you are on the governments list of suspects.

There are dozens of ways to enforce citizen disarmament that don't require immediate force.. Just make life unbearable and every citizen will capitulate just to survive.

Even if Napolitano didn’t make it it wouldn’t go through I always thought. The legislature here is too conservative to let it get through. I was mostly posting this as a heads up to those in other states that are considering this idiotic legislation.

You underestimate our resourcefulness.

I beg to differ, it’s you who overestimate the vast majority of citizens and their willingness to stand up against tyranny.

Some of us will, but those few won’t be a teacup in a tidal wave compared to the number who will kneel in submission.

I hate being negative about this, but right now with emperor hussein poised to seize the reins of power, I’m not inclined to think well of the citizens of America.

Even possession of unstamped ammo will be a crime.
going hunting? They can check your magazine for registered bullets under this deal. The lead left in that deer you shot could be submitted to make sure the game kill was with legal ammo. Don’t forget to pay your bullet tax that pays for law enforcement and maintaining the bulllet buyer registry.

The group responsible is trying to amend state laws in 18 states on ammo. gotta fight them fiercely.

Technically, I think it’s a 500% increase in the (now) 11% tax that you mean. That brings it to 55%...still prohibitive, and probably not where they’d stop.

"...whether owned by private citizens or retail outlets, must be disposed.”

Anyone watching the Banglist since the election knows that there won't be any ammo on retailer's shelves. They'll just take it out of the shipping crates and deposit it in the outstretched hands of customers.

For now. Look for more California style legislation making lead all but a controlled substance. Powder, primers will be subject to price increases, availability...remember when they went after powder manufacturers on OSHA pretenses?

Understood but it might be time to break the laws.

I don't either, but remember almost half of America didn't vote for Hussein and that half will use passive resistance if the government goes too far. At some point enough will be enough. Giving the appearance of cooperating while using the tactics of delay, delay, delay is very effective.
