Newt said that, and IMO, he is right, why put all of the Republican eggs in one basket four year or so before she could even run for the Presidency.

As expected though, where ever she goes, the media will be there, she sells papers and creates webhits.

Newt said it because he's thinking about running himself and he, like the jealous RINO wannabe's, have no shot unless she can be knocked down with the grassroots.

I don’t know what exactly Newt said or didn’t say. If he said simply that the Rs should not pick their next candidate just yet, I wouldn’t quarrel with that. However, if his exact words were phrased in a way to make her seem like just one of dozens of R. leaders, rather than the unique and extraordinary leader that she is, then I would object to the pettiness.

Should she be annointed right now for 2012? No, not IMHO.

But should it be recognized that she is clearly high AMONG the leading contenders, and that she excites “the base” more than anyone else out there? Yes, I think that’s a fair and accurate statement.

I have great hopes for her, although I’m not ready to sign on for 2012 quite yet. I want to see her continue to improve, to gain further experience and get re-elected as Governor, and especially to more fully articulate conservative messages in speeches and writings.

Don’t be petty, Newt!
