There’s a big difference in the meanings of
*THE* de facto leader (meaning ONE actual leader)
and
*A* leader. (Meaning one among A NUMBER of leaders)
Again, Gingrich did not say that Palin would not be *A* leader. He said that she would not be *THE* de facto leader. I believe that Newt considers himself to be THE leader, LOL.
Anyway, NEWT, brilliant thinker that he is, has some a few things that just don’t add up. People will have to judge for themselves is this is one of them.

Josh, with all due regard, your interpretation is incorrect.
My paraphrase was entirely appropriate.
Newt clearly said she was one of many significant players meaning she was not a leader - not that she was one of a group of leaders or the leader or leading the GOP.
She is just a player. this is what he said.
So next time:
A- make sure you don’t mislead people into thinking I quoted him when I clearly did not.
B-make sure you understood what I wrote before popping off.
Besides I think you make what is “a distinction without a difference” as the saying goes.
Keep trying though. I’m sure you will catch me in a mistake one day. Lord knows I make enough of them.
This wasn’t one of them though.
Maybe one of these days if I have the time or inclination
I’ll play ‘gotcha’ with your blog. See how you like your own medicine.
Thanks again for writing.
That was before Tuesday. I believe that if Sarah is not presently the de facto leader of the GOP she soon will be.
