I don’t think you’ve read the article or numerous other studies. It takes MORE fuel to make corn ethanol than it produces. That’s even before you discover that 10% ethanol mix gets worse mileage. Plus it leads to more water in the gas tank and more engine damage. Plus it screws up lawn mowers, chain saws, and small engines. Plus it starves people in the third world and makes it much more expensive to feed American livestock.
I agree with cutting down on oil imports, but this doesn’t cut a thing. It needs MORE imports to mess things up.
As Rush has pointed out, ignorance is one of the most expensive commodities traded in these United States.
Your post is a good example of that (intentional) ignorance.
I would point out accurate studies that have debunked your BS, but you have already seen them posted here on FR with your (willfully) blind eyes.
I read many different articles; some say corn ethanol is a negative, some paint it as rosy; the 1.3 to 1 ratio seems to be the current majority viewpoint. It could be wrong, of course. But then, what are we doing mandating the use of the stuff if we don’t even know whether there’s a net BTU gain?
