Former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has told Sky News the election of Barack Obama will make America "an honest nation and not a hypocritical one".
Even though Mr Giuliani became a supporter of John McCain after seeing his own bid for the presidency fail, he acknowledged the President-elect would improve his country's image abroad.
Mr Giuliani, whose reputation was forged while he was mayor of New York, particularly at the time of the September 11 attacks, now gives lectures on leadership skills and is in the country attending the Leaders in London conference.
He says Mr Obama has a tremendous opportunity to build a global consensus because of his international support - and that could help tackle the economic crisis.
He says the election of America's first black president should be welcomed by Republicans as well as Democrats.

“I’ll take ‘Perhaps because the rest of the world is shallow and thinks that electing an UNQUALIFIED man simply because of the color of his skin is a good thing that makes America cool again’ for a thousand, Alex!”
Blah blah, such and such isn’t as conservative as thou, yadda yadda. You stay up this late just to post this junk?
Giuliani should know better than to praise the one who hobknobs with terrorists and funders of terrorism.
No, I almost always stay up late...I'm a college compsci major!
Apparently not anymore!
Wonder what post he’s sucking up for...
Another FReeper wrote this and posted it during the primaries when we were working to defeat Rudy on FR. I don’t know who it was, but I thought it was funny.
“Rooty Roto Rooter
That’s the name
Round and round he goes
Down the Drain”
The TWO most liberal 2008 GOP candidates, the TWO most disgusting in my opinion.
My, YOU'VE indeed come to the wrong place!
No, I’ve been here for years and years. I hope you get some sort of satisfaction kicking a corpse like Giuliani. It’s not going to make any difference.
Why don’t you gather up some muskets and patriots and take to the mountains instead of wasting your time shoveling more dirt on a corpse?
HEY NOW!
Corpses can do some serious damage to your brains if you don't put them down once and for all.
That’s so funny considering the speach he made at the convention. All these dudes are becoming suckasses now. I can think of one whose not, though. Bet you could never guess? ; )
Nice skinny tie.
LISTEN TO THE LYRICS PAUL WELLER!
maybe he wants to run for governor in NY
Here’s your man HANNITY!
Or that upcoming senate seat??
Well, he got one thing right...
“I think that Sarah Palin got a bad rap by the media because she defies some of the political correctness that the American media wants to see in a candidate,” he said.
“They certainly don’t want a really attractive Conservative - attractive not only physically because she is a beautiful woman, but attractive in terms of her personality and her charisma. She is the worst nightmare of the liberal press.”
Coming from the mayor of the city that was targeted by terrorism, Giuliani’s statements are dishonest and the height of hypocrisy.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
- Samuel Adams
Cross dressing, white-guilt chimes in...
And they pay him how much to talk?
note to self. Ya gotta get a better gig...
Gotta keep his lobbyist connections going.
Another go-along-get-along eletist.
He doesn’t give a damn about party.
"He worked as a community organizer. What? I said - OK, OK, maybe this is the first problem on the resume. He worked as a community organizer. He immersed himself in Chicago machine politics.
Then he ran for then he ran for the state legislature and he got elected. And nearly 130 times, he couldnt make a decision. He couldnt figure out whether to vote yes or no. It was too tough. He voted he voted present. I didnt know about this vote present when I was mayor of New York City. Sarah Palin didnt have this vote present when she was mayor or governor. You dont get present. It doesnt work in an executive job. For president of the United States, its not good enough to be present. You have to make a decision.
A few years later a few years later, he ran for the U.S. Senate. He spent most of his time as a celebrity senator: no leadership, no legislation to really speak of. His rise is remarkable in its own right. Its the kind of thing that can happen only in America.
But hes never run a city. Hes never run a state. Hes never run a business. Hes never run a military unit. Hes never had to lead people in crisis. He is the least experienced candidate for president of the United States in at least the last 100 years. This is not a personal attack, but a statement of fact. Barack Obama has never led anything. Nothing, nada.
Nada. NOTHING."
-- Rudy Giuliani, Republican Convention Speech, September 3, 2008
maybe it's because some want to bring that rotten corpse, mccain's rotten corpse, mitt's rotten corpse and Huckster's rotten corpse back out in 2012. once we drill it thru your heads we don't want nothing of the sort!
Rudy’s either lost his ever-lovin’ mind ......or merely showing his true colors.
Rudy’s just another BO type, all about himself. These ‘Leaders’ are parasites on the body public, including the majority from the Town councils to the White Hoyse & Capital.

RESEARCH
DID YOU KNOW US PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE RUDY GIULIANI HELD A CAMPAIGN FUND-RAISER IN KAZAKHSTAN? That's right, in Kazakstan
WHERE IS KAZAKHSTAN It is a former Soviet Union state, the only Central Asian country sharing borders with both Russia and China, and with states of nuclear-transit significance such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
GLOBAL STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE Kazakhstan is in the Strategic Energy Ellipse and is a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with China and Russia. A focal point of influence between the West and the East.....(can you say oil and gas pipelines?)
WHAT IS KAZAKHSTAN'S MAIN INDUSTRY Kazakhstan aims to become the worlds largest producer and exporter of uranium in the next five years. Country Profile 10: KazakhstanFirstWatch International (FWI)
Overview: At independence in 1991, Kazakhstan was among the four states of the former Soviet Union to inherit nuclear weapons, acquiring with it the status of the fourth largest nuclear power in the world.(1) The new acquisitions included thousands of nuclear warheads, intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), cruise missiles, and the world's largest testing facility (where 456 nuclear tests took place over a 50-year period).(2)
Kazakhstans nuclear fuel cycle resources include extensive uranium mining zones and fuel processing and fabrication technologies. Kazakhstan aims to become the worlds largest producer and exporter of uranium in the next five years.
The country is taking advantage of its advanced fuel fabrication facilities to offer those services for export. While its overall intent appears peaceful, Kazakhstan has made known its desire to operate all steps of the nuclear fuel cycle. If Kazakhstan decides to undertake enrichment or reprocessing capabilities, that may be of concern to the international community as a potential source of weapon material.
At present, Kazakhstans nuclear strategic significance lies not in its capabilities, which are polished by decades of being part of one of the worlds two nuclear superpowers, nor in its intent, which appears to be anti-proliferation, but in the risk of nuclear security and proliferation by virtue of its location and circumstances. Kazakhstans geographic position makes it strategically important to current international nonproliferation efforts.
It is the only Central Asian country sharing borders with both Russia and China, and with states of nuclear-transit significance such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan continues to make remarkable progress in the area of nuclear safeguards, export controls, and nuclear material control and accountancy. Its continued cooperation regarding these efforts is essential to maintaining stability and security in the region.

Yes it might be a little overused, but then again we have a plethora of wannabe, has-beens and poseur, Rockefeller pseudo intellectuals who believe that the Reagan Revolution is passe and in order to advance, we should all become DemoRat-Lite.
To which I say: Be gone all ye phony, establishment-centered, big government, "compassionate conservatives," including the Head-Chief-In-Charge, occupying the Oval Office and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Yes we should have a "BIG TENT," but IF anyone wants to come under it, then they should adhere to conservative principles and "assimilate" with us as opposed to trying to convert us in to being more like the Dhimmis.
Bears repeating:
“Giuliani is another RINO turd that just won’t go away.”
So another RINO steps out of the showdows for all to see now that his man is headind for the WH.
Remove the ‘or’ I think it’s both.
Well that ‘splains why Repubs are saying nothing about O’s campaign cash from overseas.
And Rudy connected to communists in SA.
“compassionate conservatives,”
Compassionate conservative is doublespeak for Republican Socialist.
I no longer tell people I’m a republican.
I say I’m a conservative that believes in our US Constitution as the giude for our country.
I think our last hope at freedom lies at the feet of the USSC. No matter which way it goes this only ends up bad.
Quote of the day! (and I don't give out many)
And the liberal asses who claimed this flip flopper was so much better than “old” Fred Thompson can kiss my white rear end...........You either left FR or were run off, but have slurked back claiming you supported the GOP candidate in the end - Does this prove to you that your abortion supporting, gay rights loving, adulterer candidate was liberal after all?
rino alert??? i think that calling gulliani a rhio is even an insult to rinos..this guy is way of the reservation!
I was being polite with my comments... ;^) I do think he is worse. He obviously will swing either direction to keep his name in contention for something, anything.
i nkow what you mean
*once we drill it thru your heads we don’t want nothing of the sort! *
I didn’t vote for any of these dopes, but thanks for trying to drill my head.
I’m getting to the point where RINOs and so-called “moderate” Repubs sicken me more than I can say.
They should just start their own third party. “Shallow suckups”.
heheh - I used the word “suckups” before I read any of the comments.
It’s becoming clear that the rot and filth is not going to stop of its own accord. It will only stop when It Is Stopped by an external force, one way or another.
Et tu, Rudy?
According to Larry sinclair, obama is more bi than mere biracial..
