I have the same question regarding the Koran. The book's directives are mostly in first person plural, but Muhammet claimed that they are the direct words of Allah, and that there is no God but Allah.

So, my unanswered question is why the first person plural? If it contains Allah's words, the book should be in first person singular. If there is only one God, first person singular goes again.

I think those who deem themselves more worthy than the general population have a tendency to speak in the plural voice because they think everyone should think the same way that they do.
