I'll be expecting them to deliver my new car within a few weeks of Obama’s coronation.

Central Planning rules. We’ve lost the country.

We are now the USSA (United Socialist States of America). Before long, this country will be more like the old Soviet Union than well, ... the old Soviet Union was.

We can call the new car “The People’s Car” and make it sound really efficient - give it a German name- how about Volks Wagon?

Kills me that the US Government is now appointing "czars" for everything they can think of. We now have a feudal system, with a High King in the White House, and many little kings ruling the banking industry, and the auto industry, and homeland security, and education, and the environment, and ...

I don't like being a serf. I was happier as a free man. Sigh.

Well, you can kiss Good Bye to the “Travel Trailer Industry”. You won’t be towing one of those with a hybrid.

The only man worthy of the title Auto Industry Car Czar is former Chief Economist, Adviser and Seer of Enron Paul Krugman. /sarc/

Yesterday I heard someone on the radio toss out the name of Rick Hendrick, who owns a large number of dealerships in the Southeast as well as Hendrick Motorsports. Can you imagine the Big 3 being forced to build cars and trucks the dealerships can actually sell without tricks?

Czars are meaningless and have little or no real power. They're just figureheads that can be blamed if something goes wrong. This is Pelosi simply covering her fat rear end.

It is immaterial if the restructure does not cut off the UAW and any other union contract; nothing will help in that case. The sheer arrogance of all the players in this fiasco is astounding.

Volcker was fine as Fed head in the early 80’s but somehow I missed out on his automotive creds. This will become exhibit A in how government is incapable of fixing anything. We’ll soon yearn for the trash Detroit was putting out in the 70’s and early 80’s.
