....and then there's the New York Times:

A Fighter Jet’s Fate Poses a Quandary for Obama

Two of President-elect Barack Obama’s stated goals — cutting wasteful spending and saving or creating millions of jobs — are on a collision course in a looming decision over whether to keep building the F-22 fighter jet.

Surely, the timing of this piece today by the slime at the NYT is no coincidence...

Dear Lord,

Embrace this child of yours and hold him tight during these horrible, unthinkable times.

Because a native speaker of English who speaks with poor grammar is marked as illiterate or dumb, yet we all make allowances when we listen to someone who’s speaking English as a second language.

The phrase “accented English” is there to allow the reader to do the same.

I am always humbled by such grace as Mr. Yoon has shown. His 15-month-old daughter, Grace, must have been named after Mr. Yoon. Prayers for them all.

I have no idea, it's only just happened, but that's an excellent suggestion. I hope the news publishes something soon about local agencies. The Korean immigrant community is pretty tightly-knit for support, and may publish a way for others to contribute. Bless you for that thought!

Tears in my eyes reading his story. What a true and wonderful American he is or will be if he becomes a citizen. And what a stark contrast to the America-hating moonbats who have elected Obama. God bless Mr. Dong.

Maybe not.

F-18... F-22... many readers won't notice...

Figures...I wondered when the Obamanuts would start coming out and start ranting against the evil US Military pilots...

ALmighty Father, please comfort this man in his grief, and see to all his needs. Care also for all involved as only You can. I ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.

“A Korean immigrant...”

As much as I often rail on FreeRepublic about illegal immigration, I'm sure Mr. Yoon waited his turn and came here legally from Korea. And you know what? America will ALWAYS have room to take in the Mr. Yoon’s of the world...men who understand that being (or becoming an American), is a state of mind, and entails the love of certain principles...like liberty, freedom and personal responsibility.

May God bless him and comfort him through this grievous loss.

*why he would bail out over an inhabited area?*

I live in San Diego, the engins went out.
He had no other choice.

> Here, folks, is a textbook example of the sort of comment that would have benefited greatly from just a little bit of thinking before hitting that "Post" button...

Yeah, but I notice that (so far) it hasn't developed into a major distraction. I've made a few unthoughtful posts myself, and will let this one slide, if not followed up.

There are more important things to do right now, like send another prayer up. Got one on the way now...

How very, very sad. I admire this dear man for his faith and strength. May the Lord bless him and help him to endure this tragic turn to his life. The pilot must really feel awful as well. Prayers for them both.
