LULAC Leader Decries Anti-Hispanic Bias
El Paso Times, Texas ^ | December 9, 2008 | Darren Meritz

Building a border fence, tougher immigration laws and resources that could allow local law enforcement agencies to target immigrants are all symptoms of a bias against Hispanics that must change, Rosa Rosales, national president of the League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, said in El Paso this weekend.

"One of our top priorities is civil rights. It was the same way before me," she said. "To this day, we feel there's still a lot of discrimination in employment, discrimination in housing, discrimination in the overall issues that pertain to minorities."

Rosales, in El Paso for a quarterly LULAC board meeting, emphasized potential discriminatory practices among law enforcement agencies that have been accused of targeting immigrant populations and enforcing border law beyond their jurisdiction.

There's always room for abuse in that, and we feel that (responsibility) belongs" to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-The buck is always passed to the(responsibility) belongs" to Immigration and Customs Enforcement until Immigration and Customs Enforcement starts actual enforcement then it becomes breaking up families,he paid his taxes,ICE actually used handcuffs, etc, etc, etc

“”One of our top priorities is civil rights. It was the same way before me,” she said.”

Your top priority has been trying to get amnesty for as many illegal aliens as possible. And you have been ably assisted by far too many dimwits in the GOP.

Shove it, Rosa. No one who matters is being convinced.

It’s okay for them to claim anti-hispanic bias in our immigration laws but you can’t claim that hispanics make up 80 percent of the illegals. They always want it both ways.

Yup, those border fences are racist.

Unlock your house doors, liberal, and I’ll start to believe you.

Until then, go Obama yourself.

Well, Rosa, when we see you stand up for all people and the USA instead of just ‘Hispanics’, we might give a whoop! Take you racial identity back to Mexico.

It always puzzles me when I hear all this discrimination cries, yet there are many other subcultures that don't seem to have the same level of difficulty. Blacks, Hispanics, and their respective leaders have always sung the same “I'm-a-victim” song, but I hear much less of it from Japanese, Korean, Indian, Pakistani, and other foreign-born citizens. I wonder why that is.

When did they start speaking Latin? I took three years of Latin back in high school, but don’t remember much beyond amo, amas, amat....

BULL!

Most of these “free houses” went to ILLEGALS.

Most of our government contracts may have a front man and then the ILLEGALS do the work. So LEGAL citizens are shut out. ILLEGALS work CHEAP so they will get the contract.

Most ILLEGALS don't pay taxes - they send it home. They get “free” public school education and medical care and often SHUT DOWN hospitals because they don't pay.

If we STOPPED this we would greatly reduce our DEBT.

I'd say LEGAL citizens are being discriminated against and get the bill for ILLEGALS.

If Latinos would stop breaking the law to come here, there wouldn’t be a problem.

One of my top priorities is obeying the law. If I don’t do that and I get caught I will be punished. Foreigners should be held to the same standard.

This is nothing compared to what a white American who legally moved to Mexico would face.
