This is already bigger than Watergate.

It seems that way because of the "history" of it all.

Either way, back to the '90s we go.

Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
Groove to Black Violin EPK, too.

It already has legs! :)

Yes. It was almost saddening to watch his face seeing my screen shot, then the ‘unavailable’ and noting the matching webpage address I showed him. He turned against Republicans during Watergate and might be ready to acknowledge corruption isn’t a D or R thing. But also recognizes this is much much worse.

>>That said, it is interesting that BO’s camp was totally kept in the dark and blindsided by this speaks volumes... <<

I agree. That just may be the roseta stone regarding whether or not 0 should be very worried. Especially if JJJ WAS informed ahead of time.

To get an Independent Counsel or Special Prosecutor or whatever they’re called — what’s the procedure? Should I write my congressman?

Actually, the Office of Special Counsel is a standing position (appointed for a 5 year term by the Attorney General) that is responsible for investigating wrongdoing in the Executive Branch, as directed by the AG.

The current Special Counsel was appointed on December 30, 2003 and goes by the name of...drum roll, please... Patrick Fitzgerald. Yes, it just so happens that the US Attorney in this matter is also the US Special Counsel.

His term will expire at the end of this month, so I guess they would make an appointment

The current Special Counsel is . . . Patrick Fitzgerald

Nifty! So Bush's AG gets to reappoint him?? Any confirmation needed?

Re #44 Maybe JJJ wore a wire to boot. Oh well, if past is prologue, Fitz is going to take a long time to finish his job—but it has been an exciting week (my work sure has suffered)...

wrongdoing in the Executive Branch

I wonder if The Office of The President Elect is considered part of the Executive Branch. /s

I tell ya...this is indeed serious enough for BHO to increase his smoking and for Axelrod and Emanuel to START.

“Naaa, not on this one anyway. You can bet your last nickle that Zero was up to speed on everything that was going on with who was going to get his senate seat.”

That may be a correct statement in this specific instance. Hence, my default “pathological liar” observation.
In fact, based on his public statements during 2008 alone, I plan to place that on my list of “things we know about O and his candidacy”.

The claim alone that a senator elected President would have no contact with the man empowered to appoint his replacement in the senate for better than a month after the election is not believable.

Yes, that's what I think.

There's hardly anything wrong with Obama consulting with Blagojevich about the opening. In fact, it would be odd if they didn't talk about it.

But since Obama has been adamant that there was no contact, I can only come up with two logical reasons- A) Obama was tipped that there was an investigation and a wiretap (not about the senate seat, necessarily, but in general), and it would be best if Obama keep his distance, lest he appear on a tape that would likely embarass him at the very least; or B) Obama is lying.

I'm kind of leaning toward the tip off, since Obama wouldn't make such a claim if he suspected that there might be a recording of him.

The bottom line is that the Feds aren't looking to take down Obama-they will protect him. It could very well be that Blagojevich's best deal will come if he volunteers to stay quiet, rather than rat out Obama.

OK, I’ve had it with you folks.

Obama is a fine and admirable man. He’s educated by some of the best there is and I seriously doubt that any of you have spent more than 20 years studying our country.

You folks need to start loving Obama for what he really is.... For a true insight of the inner workings of this complicated and country loving man, simply watch, listen and behold the very foundation of this mans teachings, see what go through his mind and learn to hold dear all that makes this remarkable man the leader he has become.

So now, stand, come together, raise your hands, shout out load, sing and share a precious moment in time. Feel, believe, rejoice and know what is truly in our future.

Now go, spread the word of the brighter day. We are on the mountain top, we are free, we are free, we are free at long last....

Team Hussein better have somebody in Fitzgeralds office RFN spilling every single detail of every single contact he's had with Blago since the election.

How do you think the Trib got the inside scoop on the wiretaps and all?

Oh please God let Fitz have a big enough ego to want this on his resume.

Dear Mr. Fitz,

You have two choices:

1) Cover up for zero and only go after Blag. You'll go down in history for cleaning up Chicago.

OR

2) Go after zero all the way and get his @$$ thrown in jail. You will be written about in history books for hundreds of years. Your great-grandchildren will be interviewed to tell their stories about you. You'll scare the hell out of national politicians which will lead to less corruption and a better America.

Please go for option 2.....granted, (you'll be despised in the short-term and recieve the Joe the Plumber treatment.)

Mrs. Blago was the real estate agent who sold the house to the Obamas and the lot to Rezko's wife, to the Obamas.

All these people are tied at the hip!

Hey Zer0, How are you hanging in there with the big boys? How's your smoking and facial tics coming along? Enjoy your ride. The fun is just beginning.

It appears one of O’s problems may be that as the front man, he isn’t always aware of the strings his handlers are pulling in the background.

You responded:
“That will eventually be the claim, but it too... will be a lie.”

Certainly, you may be correct; hence, 3 weasal words in my statement above ;^).
However, I am not yet prepared to stipulate that O is a stand alone, smart, cunning, practiced, or even accomplished politician (notwithstanding he just nailed 52% of the votes in a presidential election). In fact, we know he has what amounts to a “board of elders”. And, he did not choose the board, they chose him.

This is only bigger than Watergate; Whitewater and Monica if they actually have The One on tape complicit in the selling of the senate seat. Otherwise it's business as usual.
