UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A comment in the New York Post from Queens / Long Island Congressman Gary Ackerman regarding the replacement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as a U.S. Senator after her appointment as Secretary of State, has left many locally, including officials, angry, and disappointed.

The New York Post reads "Ackerman also joked that he had taken himself out of the running for the Senate in a way that appeared to highlight (Caroline) Kennedy's lack of statewide experience. He said he wouldn't want to replace Clinton, 'because I don't do Utica, and that's a qualification for the job."

Ugh. I already screwed up my own post. Ackerman is a member of the US Congress, not a State rep. My apologies to you all, but none to Ackerman!

Bill Clinton said he would be happy to “do Utica.”

Sounds like he called a spade a spade. Kennedy doesn’t have any experience. Like osama pushing his blackness, caroline pushes the “Kennedy” name, and that’s all she has as far as experience. She isn’t even physically appealing. Oh, well neither was toothy, big ears osama.

Being born and raised in Utica, there were many a time it was wished we could slice NYC away and let it float out to sea.

Man - Utica gets no respect! I was born and raised near Binghamton - and even we liked to make fun of Utica! And Oneonta as well, of course.

I know, it’s been hard for Utica for decades now. Poor leadership has hurt it terribly. I still have family there, and I would like to see it bounce back...but when?

Ackerman should be a little more careful with his words. Turns out the Zog-man is in Utica. and come some future poll time—Utica might just do(in) Ackerkman.

I live near Utica and don’t like it much either. But,NYC gets free ride from upstate. Without water and power they get from upstate they could not survive one day. They should start charging them a fee for water and powerline transmissions and see how much they like upstate then.

Actually, Utica has the distance running hall of fame and is home to the largest 10K road race in the country - The Boilermaker.

I think the Boilermaker is a 15K. I have run it six times.

I live near Utica and it does suck but I stay anyway and try to scratch out a living somehow. I don't think it is any better anywhere else but the job situation HAS to be better in other places. Even when a few jobs in Utica do crop up, they are given to the politicians families or government subsidized jobs for Bosnians, Somalians, Russians, or any other kind of moslem you can imagine. Utica is flooded with foreign moslems now.

In the Summer time, the ignorant NYC downstate people come upstate and take over every lakefront, river, pond, or stream and will let us near them. Oh Well, so it goes in the Utica/Adirondack area.
