Gov. Sarah Palin's home church was badly damaged by arson, leading the governor to apologize if the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" from her failed campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee.
Damage to the Wasilla Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, authorities said Saturday. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday night while a handful of people, including two children, were inside, according to Central Mat-Su Fire Chief James Steele.

Actually, I take that back - there’s no constitutional designation of a crime being a “hate crime” as compared to any other crime of the same type. Murder is murder, arson is arson.
Unfortunately Sarah’s apology will be part of every story written about this crime. Until somebody gets arrested the Press will keep banging that drum.

I'm a bit disturbed by someone writing for Town Hall picking up this "failed campaign" mantra from CNN and AP. As for the church burning, not much question that the left-wing hatred expressed for this pastor and this church as a means of attacking Palin inspired some leftist religion-hater to do this.
No, Sarah has nothing to feel guilty about. Hatred of Christianity is a growing infection of the left, and somebody certainly needs to stand up for Christian values, even if it leads to attacks and martyrdoms.
