The fact that he defended our country doesn’t remove the FACT he is a socialist. One doesn’t exclude the other.

Bush structured the bailout money as loans (preferred stock with no voting rights that must be sold at par value in 3 years) with pretty strong conditions (concessions from UAW and management by Spring or the government will allow them to reorganize under Chapter 11).
That’s hardly “socialism”.
