“Daddy’ doesn’t have this amazing power you think he has....try focusing your anger on congress...a much, much more powerful group.
Leftist policy has been going on since FDR...and there wasn’t much Bush could do to turn that around in 8 years, with no support in congress from his “conservatives” and a hateful media and of course, lest I forget, all the conservatives that are so upset that he didn’t walk on water.

What makes you think that I’m not angry at congress as well?
George Bush didn’t use the power he had when he had the opportunity to do so. Not only did he not use it, most of the time he seemed to be rooting for the other side.
With the recent recover packages just how much conservatism did George Bush show there? He was like a snake-oil salesman telling us the sky was falling.
Who said I expected him to be my daddy? All I expected out of him is to act like the conservative he ran as.
This is the problem with rhinos. They have selective memories. I think you have a bit more “recovering” to do.
It used to be that I came to FR to escape the liberalism out there and the past 4 years it feels like the same old same old. Are there any real conservatives left here?
You know, I try to keep an even keel whether it’s a Democrat or a Republican in there. If it’s a Democrat and he screws up, I address it. If it’s our guy and he screws up, I address it. I do not try to gloss over our failures, and Bush will go down as a massive failure on a number of levels.
What do we gain by glossing over a loser? Can’t we be honest with ourselves? Obviously not!
We spend decades in the wilderness waiting to have the White House, the House, and the Senate. We finally get it, and this is what we get for the effort.
If the performance of Bush satisfies people who consider themselves died in the wool Conservatives, then our nation is so far gone it’s pointless to discuss these matters any longer.
