bert: There are too many that bitch and moan and then have their coffee and feel good about being active.

So true.

FR may in fact be more detrimental to the conservative cause than we can imagine.

I'm beginning to think it's entirely possible that FR reduces the possibility of a winning conservative coalition more each day by encouraging infighting among the conservative factions, and letting the Dems roll the country unopposed.

Would we have elected someone who promised to allow 12 million abortions during 8 yrs, promised to cut and run from Lebanon, sell arms to the Iranians, and keep the Federal Govt involved in public schools if FR was around in 1984? Someone like Ronald Reagan?

Excellant points.

Maybe we can use Freep to mobilize our local and state efforts to organize the conservative movement.

all that said, Freep still brings out the information in one spt that we woud other wise not have, and speaks to many who want that info.

Well it seems to me that the proof of your comment is in the Pudding.

Democrats hold large majorities in the Congress and now have won the White House and it has nothing at all to do with anything of substance.

They didn’t campaign on substance they Campaigned against BUSH.

I assume, in politics, it is easier to tear someone down then to build someone up. All they really said was that they would be ANTI-BUSH, to date Obama seems to be nothing of the sort.

He seems to be exactly what he campaigned to be, a pragmatist. Bush’s third term, maybe. The problem for America is, was that what was needed at this juncture?

Of course he will communicate it so much more eloquently for those inclined to hear such prose in the articulate and clean voice of Obama or for those that aren’t inclined it will just be more BS.

More on your Reagan comparison you left out someone that GRANTED, I will type it again for possible penetration GRANTED, AMNESTY TO 3 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS and later said he regretted the decision.

To: sam_paine; All

Don’t forget that Ronald Reagan increased the Government with the war on drugs. As for selling weapons to Iran, I don’t think that he was involved..

Sam, yours is an interesting post with many thoughts and ideas, I too have been wondering about. I have nothing solid to opine on at moment; but yes, I do hold segmentarian Conservatives partly responsible for our getting "Obama". We had many fine candidates on the original slate, but were handily disposed of in this forum (and elsewhere) for all kinds of superficial reasons, if not purposes. And the ones who did the most and biggest trashing seem to also be the ones whining the most and being vile about "president-elect" Obama.

The lefties aren't the only ones with an "anarchist" wing.

Ronald Reagen is dead.
get over it. You would have been bashing him for not dealing with the Illegal Immigration scene that he sure kept going.

and how many abortions were there with Reagen?

a president is not “Daddy”...he doesn’t have much power, certainly not with conservatives just bashing him in congress and here on Freep and not supporting him once they find out “Daddy’ can’t overturn Roe v Wade. Yeesh.
