DENVER – After going months without a full-time job, Daniel Ramirez has decided it's time to return to family in Mexico.

Vicenta Rodriguez Lopez says she can't afford to live in Colorado any more because her husband was deported.

Roberto Espinoza is going back, too. After 18 years as a mechanic for a General Motors dealership in Denver, his work permit wasn't renewed and he didn't want to remain in the country illegally.

Are they headed South?

No west along I-10 towards Houston/San Antonio. At which junctures they can turn south towards Brownsville/Laredo, etc. I see convoys of them taking vehicles back to Mexico to sell but these groups seem to be different in that they have a lot of belongings with them. The last group I saw was about 8 - 10 vehicles in the convoy and all had Alabama plates.

It would be interesting to hear what the Border crossings are experiencing in this regard.

There are many Koreans who are illegal immigrants too. It is a fairly substantial percentage. Anyways, good for them for leaving America. They should of been there in the first place.

I’m not holding my breath.

You’d be foolish if you did, imo.

I hate to blow your theory all to heck but those were just illegals taking Christmas presents back to Mexico. It happens every year at this time. Stolen vehicles are a big prize they like to take back home to the relatives as gifts.

Don’t worry. It’s only the ones who want to work that are leaving. The welfare queens and the MS13 Gang Bangers are staying.

Wow! This is the guy to whom we should give the work permit.

I have zero issues giving work permit to hard working LAW ABIDING Mexicans. They are good folk and I respect them.

Go LAW ABIDING Mexicans!! I am all for you guys!

LOL.....................

You maybe correct but these are definitely different than the normal groups I see towing vehicles back to Mexico for sale. In fact they have been reduced since Mexico put limits on the vehicles being allowed into Mexico for sale.

I love translator programs.

BTW, I realized after I'd left the computer that I should have said, "No dejen" instead of "No deja". (A negative plural imperative.)

These vehicles aren’t for sale. They are Christmas gifts for my relatives in Mexico..... that will be sold after the generous relative has returned to America.

You mean the ones they are driving in July, etc? Actually the convoys of vehicles to be sold dimished in number after Mexico changed their vehicle import rules in Mar. 2008.

Nope. If he is a software engineer who has not committed any crimes against the US, then bring him on. Our country benefits from smart talent.

In fact in my industry, some of the smartest guys are from the Ukraine, Russia, India, Bulgaria and China. The software dominance of the US would be non existent without these fine folks.

All I ask in return is that you do not break ANY US laws and that includes IMMIGRATION laws.

I think there are exceptions, but when dual citizenship is allowed, it would be difficult to cultivate a deep allegiance to a country.
