This is a private, family friendly forum. There are many places you can get off discussing people rubbing oil on each other’s genitals on the Internet if you want to talk about it. Don’t bring it here.

"For more than a week, Mormons in show business have shared rumors that Schwartz might punish Mormons for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' involvement in passing a California initiative establishing marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman."A lot of pink ink just to ruin Romney for 2012, when the facts patently state that Obama voters passed Prop 8.

“Wicked” is a crappy “new age” musical relying on uninspired computer-generated music, an infantile book, and numbing special effects. I wish they had withheld it from the world.

Wicked is a beautiful musical with great characters, wonderful songs and lyrics and fantastic staging.
I've seen it twice in Chicago and loved every moment of both sittings.

Nonetheless, he urged all "fair-minded Mormons to reconsider their position and come to support the right of homosexuals to marry the person they love."Homosexuals have the same rights as heterosexuals do. . .they can marry someone of the opposite sex.

Queers are the only ones who can actually do that, in this context.

Eye candy with an unhummable score and a contrived plot — three hours wrenched from my life. But I respect your opinion and am quite happy you so enjoyed it. Art is one of the few areas of subjectivity we are still allowed.

...former Mormon Jon Powell called on the music industry to refuse to license certain material to LDS musical groups. In the piece, Powell specifically targeted Brigham Young University's "Young Ambassadors," of which he was once a member. That's right, the biggest threats to the United States, according to the gay lobby, are the Boy Scouts and The Young Ambassadors (think "Up With People"). It just goes to show you that these activists aren't looking for equality, the want to remove the Freedom of Religion part of the First Amendment. They want final say over what people can and cannot believe about homosexuality in specific and politics in general. They want to ban opposition.

...and I am sorry you didn't care for it.
Have a great Christmas!

Stephen Schwartz finds Mormon organizational zeal on behalf of California's Proposition 8 to be "reprehensible,"... I find Stephen Schwartz to be reprehensible. Saw Wicked in Chicago a couple of years ago and yawned/snoozed through it. Granted, I'm not a theater fan, but there's always some little, subtle political activism theme in most of these homo-phile playwrights and composers. I sensed this immediately in Wicked and lost interest.
Still, the poor guy will be castigated to no end by the Gaystapo for not falling in lock step with their hateful agenda.

My wife loved it, so we have the original cast recording. Maybe I’ll listen to it again to see if it’s grown on me.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
