FYI- Telephone interview. Nine minutes long. Mostly about the church fire, and a short discussion at the end about Blagojevich (sp/) --- "I'm wondering how long the guy thought he was gonna get away with it," says Palin. "The guy"- gotta luv it. -:)

Personally, I wish to donate money to her church to help them rebuild.
This is why Liberals hate her, they can’t stand that she is not corrupt. They can’t stand that she has made her state better, no need for a bailout, they actually have extra money to give away to the citizens of Alaska, go figure!! She has been through so much and she just lets it roll off of her because she knows how blessed she is with a great family, health, and a job that she loves.
I’m with you on that, Army. Actually, I almost want to go up there and help— except it was 20 below zero at the time of the fire—so I think I’d better just send a donation.

“I’m wondering how long the guy thought he was gonna get away with it,”
Ha! Which guy? Blago? Obambam? Rahmmy? :)
There is so much fraud and corruption in the Obama Administration it’s hard to decipher a specific one.
I was thining the same thing.
I am sending my check tomorrow. Such a shame that this horrible crime was committed. Whoever did it KNEW there were people inside and tried to kill them. I hope they find the prick who did this and hang em
The ACLU must be going ballistic tonight. Palin said the church will be meeting in the local public middle school for the time being.
church meetings, in a school..liberals must be jumping off of buildings right now

Just as a question is there any history of the burning Mosques in the country?
I wonder if anyone would be so heartless as to complain about the church borrowing space from the middle school.
Also, was anyone else surprised that people were able to knock on their door at 1:30 AM? It sounds as if they dont keep a regular security detail 24/7. I guess thats possible in a small state. I was amazed to hear that she is able to go jogging at midnight (during those midnight sun months) without protection.
This is one of my favorite pre-veep pick stories of Gov. Palin. I dont imagine shell be able to remain unknown to tourists nowadays if they were to encounter her on the streets of Juneau.
It sounds as if the people knocked on her door at 1:30 AM because they were afraid some crazy arsonists/vigilantes were on the loose. She said her home is only a mile from the church.
She must have been scared to death when she heard someone knocking on her door. I know how I would react if someone started knocking on my door at 1:30 in the morning. I know if I were her and here is a knock on the door and you have a son in Iraq you automatically think the worst, the kind of knock on the door you never want to have happen. Yeah she must have thought that if she doesn’t also mention how church services at a school are nothing new in Wasilla, that it’s done all the time over there that the ACLU might come causing problems. Sucks that she has to be on guard whenever she says something in fear of the left wing nut jobs listening and wanting to make something out of nothing. She is such an amazing woman, God Bless her. How she is able to take something bad and find good in it is just remarkable. I’d love to one day meet this woman that I admire so much, she is an inspiration to me
GG, enjoyed the bear story, thanks for the link.
And about 50 mi from here, in Boulder around 15 years ago, 1st Presbyterian had two Sunday School rooms burned out before the fire was contained. This was apparently a hate crime by gays. The day before, an article in the local paper related how the pastoral staff had asked a Singles group volunteer music leader to step down after she had "come out" as a lesbian. They told her she was welcome to stay in the church, since ALL the members there were sinners, but that it was their policy to not have anyone in a leadership position who publicly espoused / celebrated / supported any particular sin. There was an outcry from the local GLBT activists.
The next morning (Sunday), about a half dozen of them, accompanied by a sycophantic gaggle of media who far outnumbered them, picketed outside the church. I was at the late service that day and saw them, but found out later I'd missed most of the excitement. At the early service, they had come into the service, marching down the aisles yelling obscenities. Everyone knew they wanted to be grabbed, manhandled and hustled out (especially manhandled), so they could proclaim themselves as Martyrs. None of the church members wanted to give them that satisfaction. To drown them out, someone started singing Amazing Grace, and the whole congregation joined in, very loudly, so they didn't have to hear the obscenities.
But even before the early service, in the wee morning hours, someone tried to start the church on fire in those two rooms. Fortunately the fire alarm went off quickly, and the firehouse wasn't far away. My cousin and his wife were particularly bummed, as one of the burned out rooms was where they taught 4th Grade Sunday School.
Anyone else have similar, mostly unknown stories, that they know of from their local towns?
