What the hell happen to him? He use to be a Conservative.
Following a spinal injury, he has been in pain for the last twelve years, then legs amputated and in a wheel chair. He carried on, and may be rest in peace. A good fight ended with honor.
Rest in peace.
...and may we as a nation be blessed with many such men who understand to cost of liberty and are willing to stand up and pay that price.
Per ArrogantBustard above, Mr. Weyrich was also a Protodeacon of the Melkite-Greek Catholic Church, and served in a parish in Fairfax County, VA.
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he, and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.
FYI: The word “Precious” in that scripture translates to “costly”.

Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
The legacy of Paul Weyrich outlasts him.

Word for Word/National Empowerment Television; You Want Your Newt TV? Whether You Do or You Don’t, It’s Here.
Godspeed to Heaven Mr. Weyrich
From wiki...”Under the auspices of the FCF, he founded the Washington, D.C.-based satellite television station National Empowerment Television (NET), later relaunched as the for-profit channel “America’s Voice” in 1997. In 1997 Weyrich was forced out of the NET television network he had founded when the network’s head persuaded its board to force out Weyrich in a hostile takeover. Chip Berlet of Political Research Associates says this was “apparently for his divisive behavior in attacking GOP pragmatists.”
I remember this because I used to watch this channel all the time. I remember an interview where Weyrich was asked who was at blame. He said it was the liberal GOPers. After that the network stopped being conservative and went out of business all together. It was then that I knew the biggest enemy of conservatism were RINOS not Democrats
I remember a big kerfuffle about that time. Trent Lott was the majority leader and had given Paul a prime parking spot at the Capitol. Didn’t buy Paul off. He continued to harangue Lott about this and that (which he richly deserved) and Lott took away the parking spot. Paul stood firm.
Paul was one of the few people I have known who could not be bought or rented with money, perks or power.
My first experience with Conservativism was on Mr. Weyrichs’ NET. He will be greatly missed.
One of the great leaders in the modern conservative movement.
RIP Mr.Weyrich.
A very sad day indeed. I have always admired Mr. Weyrich and made a point of reading his writing. I will miss him and the world will be a lesser place without him.
God Speed, Mr. Wyerich...
He opposed the selection of GHWB as vice president in 1980. Therin lay the seeds of ultimate conservative failure.
Didn’t he invent direct mail?
I met his son, Peter, in the early 90s.
RIP.
That's when it went from provocative, innovative, thought provoking television to just more televised drek! I stopped watching. It didn't last long after that.
Absolutely correct. Of course, most Freepers are unaware that GHWB, and most of his Cabinet, was forced on Reagan by the Establishment Repub insiders, under threat to sabotage the convention and his campaign.
It's amazing how much he was able to accomplish...
