Phil would have peed his pants signing this.

aRnie will eventually sign much the same thing after he gets his givebacks and reform guarantees included.

Too bad we will be in court for months regardless this pending veto ..

Again he has done the right thing for the wrong reason:
Schwarzenegger also says Democrats watered down the spending cuts and increased the taxes from the package he was negotiating with them.

Its DOA. It will not have the votes to override. The Democrats are now back to square one!

I'll take it. What the Democrats did was unconstitutional and the tax increases were illegal. Their end run around the state constitution and the Republican minority backfired on them.

The funny part is the 18 billion is really $100 billion in March but they can never say it. They need to cut 20% of every budget and fire one out of 5 public servants,,then they need to take out the machete and start cutting. Or as cowardly Rinos and Demons do they continue to tax and spend us into oblivion.

Arnold was lying.

12/23/2008

After meeting with the Democratic leaders, Schwarzenegger was asked whether he would sign a budget plan that contained tax increases but was passed only by a simple-majority vote.

“I prefer having my Republican friends at the table, and I prefer to get a two-thirds vote. But we do need revenue increases,” he said. “To save California, I’m forced to negotiate just with the Democrats. This is the situation I am forced in because of lack of participation by the Republicans.”
