WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama's team and congressional staff are scrambling to come up with details of a plan to pump up the droopy economy with $650 billion or more in government spending over the next few years.

...

But the amounts of money under consideration are so enormous — larger that either the Pentagon's annual budget or the entire domestic budget passed each year by Congress — that it's likely to prove challenging to spend so much without wasting taxpayer dollars.

And the new “make-work” jobs will go to those who “think” like the “progressives” - i.e., register Dem, join union, and salute the Obama flag.

Any “stimulus” that comes in the form of a check to my house goes directly to charity, not to “consumer goods” that will boost the economy.

There is no historical evidence that ‘stimulus’ plans work.
These are just political payouts. Hope you live in a Dem district!!!

I don’t see how the Dems move a 650 B “stimulus” bill through congress quickly. With that kind of cash, every single liberal interest will want part of the loot, and that takes time, and it becomes more contentious.

it's likely to prove challenging to spend so much without wasting taxpayer dollars.

I may never stop laughing.

hat it's likely to prove challenging to spend so much without wasting taxpayer dollars.

Since the entire $650 billion will be a waste of taxpayers money, it will be quite challenging indeed.

Diogenes would have to travel a long way through that budget to find an honest dollar in it.

The entire bill violates the 10th Amendment. Almost every congressman, of both parties, disobey that amendment. They haven’t read the Constitution, or they enjoy disobeying it. They probably want to buy votes from voters who are uninformed about the Constitution.

Unfortunately, it will be a Dem district next month when the communist who stole the election from Steve Stivers, Mary Jo Kilroy, will be sworn in.

besides all the other crap he is spewing Obama is talking abut infrastructure that is falling apart... and how the money must be given to the Governors ‘because they know how to spend it’.

Well, the Governors ask and then use it for something else and President Bush gets blamed for states falling apart.

And Republicans vote in Democrats - in a ‘I’ll show them’ vote.

And look where it has gotten us!!!!

Where is and will we ever get it back.....the ‘believe in me 80% of the time and I will be happy’.

Is this the bill Barry O’ wants ready for his signature the moment he’s sworn in?

It won’t have all the regular hearings, etc?

We have GOT to protest this if it is. He cannot “change” the way Congress does business.

I am getting sick of hearing his voice. Grrrrrr.
