Caroline Kennedy opened a new stage in the evolution of the Kennedy Cult when she announced that she wants to be appointed U.S. senator from New York to fill out Hillary Clintons term. For 48 years, the Kennedys have treated American politics as family property, like a castle European aristocrats pass on from one clan member to another. Caroline, as John F. Kennedys daughter, believes shes entitled.
Kennedys think that Kennedys should have whatever they desire.

Princess Caroline's ascension to the Senate is probably a done deal, but it still makes me sick. We dont live in a feudal society run by Kennedys, Clintons, and Bushes. I am tired of America's "royal families" screwing things up. Caroline Kennedy has never done a damn thing in her life other than write books about her Mommy and be an NYC socialite. The fact that the Governor of New York is seriously thinking about appointing her speaks volumes about the sad state of Democracy in 2008 America.

This consideration of an unfit person, Caroline Kennedy, for Hillary’s seat convinces me that the entire Senate is up for sale.

We dont live in a feudal society... Yes we do, we just don't like to admit it. Not really feudal, of course, but the illusion that We the People control the country is now just that, an illusion. In the wake of this election it has become quite clear that there is little separation between the parties, and these bailouts in the face of massive public opposition show what our leaders think of our wishes.

Blago is the small scratch on a car when it comes to the level of deceit and corruption of our politicians.

The consideration of an unfir person, Caroline Schlossberg, to be in the same league, if not above, the accomplished, elected Governor of Alaska, convinces me that the entire political and media establishment is totally screwed up.

Princess Caroline might be a fine person, I don't know, but I don't see why she merits being appointed to the senate. Do you know that she originally didn't want to be appointed, until someone told her that she should go for it? That's a great credential. I would rather see Joe the Plumber (or even his liberal equivalent) named to the seat.

But Ted Kennedy had no experience except in political campaigns, and was not yet 30, and therefore ineligible for appointment to fill the rest of JFKs term. Obligingly, the Massachusetts governor appointed a businessman named Benjamin A. Smith II, who promised to resign the seat when Ted came of age. In 1962, Ted won the nomination and the election with a slogan promising what the voters would get by electing the presidents brother: I can do more for Massachusetts. I never knew that about teddy.

No she isn’t a fine person. A flamingly liberal, anti-family, anti-American Kennedy brat. Repulsive.

Mark Steyn’s take on Caroline:
Hey, and who needs to make it there when you can just get appointed there? Gov. Paterson is said to be considering appointing Princess Caroline of Kennedy to Hillary Clinton’s vacant Senate seat. After two and a third centuries of republican experiment, America has finally worked its way back to the House of Lords.
“Friends Say Kennedy Has Long Wanted Public Role,” Anne Kornblut assured readers in an in-depth Washington Post tongue-bath. She hasn’t “long wanted” it to the extent of, you know, running for dog catcher in Lackawanna and getting what’s the word? “elected,” but, if you have a spare Senate seat, she’s graciously indicated that she’d be prepared to consider accepting it. As lady-in-waiting Anne Kornblut pointed out, Caroline is highly qualified, being “the author of several books.” It’s true! She’s an experienced poetry editor. She edited “The Best-Loved Poems Of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.” Jackie Kennedy wrote poems? Of course! She wrote so many poems that some are better loved than others.
