You have my sympathy. In fact, no one should have to live like that. In 1976 I attended the Republican National Convention in Detroit. It was held in and around the Rennaisance Center, and even then it wasn’t safe, even downtown. In fact, I chose to stay in Windsor.

My next visit to Detroit occurred in the early 90s, and it was just driving through while returning from Traverse City. A friend of mine was driving and he got lost and drove us right through the most bombed out and scary looking place I have ever seen. We were about to run out of gas to make it even worse. We had to stop for gas, and the attendant sat behind bullet proof glass while we were exposed to hostile looks until we finally drove away and breathed sighs of relief.

I’m from Detroit, still have some family in MI. The downfall of the former arsenal of democracy breaks my heart.

Detroit is civilization in reverse. It is what the democrat party will attempt to do to the rest of our country.
