So do I. I had one wait by the door so he could open it for me at the checkpoint this morning. I smiled and said, "It's nice to see that there are still plenty of gentleman in this world."

He said, "Ma'am, if I didn't open the door for a lady, my dad would still take the strap to me, even though I'm grown up."

We both laughed and then I told him it sounded like he was raised right. He told me he's raising his two sons the same way. :)

Yah, there's a party this evening that I'll go to after Mass and a dinner party tomorrow afternoon. For my first Christmas in the sandbox (I've always made it home for the previous ones), it's very nice. The Christmas spirit is very much alive in Baghdad. :)

You have Christmas plans?

Going to a friends for diner but outside of that, this has been a very quiet Christmas.

You've still got plenty of your vacation left.

My next one is early April. Going to the UK to visit my sister - yet another ex-pat in the family.

Ex pats make for quiet Christmas’s at home but give you great places to visit!

I bet England at Christmas would be nice
Have a roasted goose and a black pudding for me L0L

I'm not going until early April. Just got back from R&R...they expect me to stick around a while before I slip off on another one. L0L

Ewww....I don't do black pudding. Yecchhh!

I go to England once a year to visit my sis. I've got to take at least one of my leaves outside the US to keep that ex-pat tax break! :)

Cheers! I am a complete ‘Cheers’ nutter. For instance, every day I check whether one of my potatos looks like Obama...

How come ‘bad boys’ get to have a gene, but not homosexuals?

I'm sure that many have had a Gene.

That was one of the things I loved about working on military bases, when I was a single girl ... fine young men in flight suits or sharp uniforms holding doors for me and saying, “Can I do *anything* for you, Miss?”

Of course, now when I see young men in uniform, I say, “Thank you, son!”
