How much does Patterson make on this deal?

(oh, I guess I’m not suppose to inquire)

THAT’S why her financial records will not be released until AFTER she is appointed (which she is required to do anyway if she is a U.S. Senator).

The “transaction” needs to have already occurred or some sharp-eyed accountant type might ask where such a large sum disappeared to.

Essentially, he's been told that if he values his political career beyond the present, he needs to play ball with the Obama-Kennedy crowd. Princess Caroline in the senate as Teddy's legacy is the payoff for Teddy having thrown his endorsement to Obama very early during the primaries.

On Fox News this morning, they reported that Patterson has been told that if he expects "support" for his election bid in 2010, he needs to anoint -- ooops, appoint -- Princess Caroline.

In Illinois, this sort of thing is called "selling a senate seat," and the governor can go to jail for it. In New York, Boston and DC, it's called "political horsetrading," and the media gushes violets and roses all over the president-elect and his Kennedy cronies for resurrecting "Camelot."

Now where's my barf bag when I need it...
