WASHINGTON An internal review prepared for Barack Obama found his incoming chief of staff had multiple conversations with the Illinois governor's office, but said the talks did not involve any deal concerning whom the governor would appoint to replace Obama in the Senate.
The report was released Tuesday as a transition official disclosed that Obama and two of his top aides, Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, have been interviewed in connection with the federal investigation into Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The transition official, speaking on a condition of anonymity before the report's public release, also confirmed that Emanuel had been captured on wiretaps taken as part of the investigation.

Something stinks here . . . no wonder the Messiah went to HA. The furthest away he could get while this thing starts dripping out bad information that totally refutes what he’s been saying.

Good timing for this report, eh? I wonder if we’ll hear more about this...eventually.

Massive Associated Press cover-up.
I love how the media reports this as some kind of legitimate report with almost no skepticism.

No one on my staff talked to the Governor.
No one on my staff talked to the Governor about my Senate seat.
Ok, Rahm Emmanuel DID talk to the Governor.
Well, Rahm DID talk to the Governor about my Senate seat, but did not ask for anything.
So, an aide of mine DID talk to the Governor about my Senate seat, but they didn’t discuss a deal of any kind.
That’s my final answer.
Ok, wait, ...
Now that Emanuel and Obama are on the record, Fitzgerald can compare the tapes to what they said. If Rahm is called to testify before a grand jury, then there could be some discrepancies between the report and the facts. Stay tuned.
So Obama lied when he originally said “we” had no contact with the Gov about the Senate vacancy.
This report is Obama’s side, and there are some avenues worth pursuing. Note the timing of the release... late afternoon, 12/23. They’re trying to bury their own report.
I’m sure Katie will leasd with Obama’s big lie on her news show tonight.
Any “reporter” that says he believes this crap is either too stupid to be a reporter or is enabling the coverup.
OK, so Rahm and Blago hadn't settled on a price, they were still in discussions. Unfortunately, that is still illegal, and Obama has been caught red-handed lying through his teeth trying to deny involvement.
This story is going to be a lot of fun when Fitz starts calling them to testify in his latest perjury trap.
They are such liars.
