I have a physicist friend with some friends in NASA, and I got the impression from him that clinton screwed up the space program. And as with so many other things, Bush has failed to fix clinton’s monkey business.

I must confess that I’m unsure whether this announcement is good news or not. Personally, I’ve always felt that the international space station was a huge waste of funds better spent elsewhere. It’s chief original purpose was to make a show of improving relations with the Soviet Union, and I haven’t seen anything very useful come from it since, while a lot of good programs were cut.

But I haven’t really kept on top of this, I must admit.

Regarding 8, 9 & 10;
It is a shame that we can't just openly say that the government is sponsoring commercial development; not subsidizing it, not absorbing it, but sponsoring individuals and corporations to build new products and capabilities.

If they said it out loud there would be protests within 24 hours.
