The enactment of martial law, ala NOLA, is enough to gag a maggot. Under Obama, given his Saul Alinski orientation, I fear we might soon envy the NOLA crowd.
I did like the fact that the Louisiana government insisted o keeping the Feds at arms length. Unfortunately, they also kept the first responders on the scene (Baptist volunteer groups, complete with supplied portable kitchens) from entering New Orleans.

You have it completely backwards. The local police state govt was trampling 2nd and 14th amendment rights in NOLA until the NG troops showed up and explained it to the cops. Go check it out with the NRA. Read the book titled The Great New Orleans Gun Grab. It will open your eyes to what we are facing. While the military rescued us from corrupt local govt and the corrupt cops, I just don’t know if the same can be said under Obama. I doubt it.
