Right, we elect a man who thinks that there are 57 states because Sarah Palin supposedly does not know about the geography of Africa?

Can you provide actual examples of her mistakes?

what was wrong with the Gibson interview? The CBS interview was terrible.

Both interviews were wrong. Not in the context of just Sarah Palin answering the questions and flubbing a couple of answers or non-answers.

Where both interviews were wrong was in the fairness. That kind of interview was not done with Obama nor with Biden. If Couric and Gibson were to have been fair at all, they would've conducted the same kind of interview with Obama and Biden. As it stands, both interviews were intended to be confrontational and filled with "gotcha" type questions. I doubt that Obama ever got the same treatment from the media, not even from FOX.

Sarah Palin has the competitive instincts necessary to play in the big leagues and if she wants to return to that level of politics, she has plenty of time to fill in the gaps in her knowledge and practice dealing with hostile interviewers. She may or may not have read conservatism, but she has the obvious advantage of actually living conservatism. America needs more people like that, especially in government.
A conservative would appreciate the advantage of her practical, hands-on experience. But we have to face the fact that it is necessary to also be able to articulate persuasive reasons for rejecting the nostrums and panaceas offered by the socialists. It is that need which Palin has not demonstrated the ability to meet, and that is why Ann Coulter could think that Palin needs to hit the books big time. I say, tho, that Palin is probably sharp enough to pick that stuff up in a couple of years while still governing Alaska. And that if she is not sharp enough to do that, she is not sharp enough for the job of running for POTUS against the socialists - in 2012 or 2016. Or ever.

And again - the leftist are in collusion to change this nation’s values!

When are we going to raise children who WILL go into the media - so WE can have a definite voice in our nation! Forget FoxNews - it has gone tabloid since the 2006 election!

Did anyone here read this post - WOW - As usual - it came out too late:

Couric Studied With Anti-Palin Advisers Before Palin Interview

“Jeff Bercovici of Portfolio.com reported in a brief item that Couric revealed in a panel discussion that she boned up with anti-Palin foreign-policy advisors before interviewing the Alaska governor. Peter Kafka of All Things Digital featured this piece of the Bercovici report:

Couric shed some light on her preparation for the interviews: Beforehand, she sought advice from former senator Sam Nunn and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas [actually, it’s Haass]. They told her to draw Palin out on her geopolitical worldview and urged her to let the governor speak at length without interrupting her. Maybe she should bring them along with her when she takes over at Meet the Press?

That would be a sad day for substance on Meet the Press, if it ever happened. Sam Nunn, of course, is now leading the Obama transition team on defense policy, and Haass and was probably familiar to Couric through his appearances as an analyst on NBC. Haass was a top aide to Colin Powell in the first two years of the Bush administration, and remember, Powell endorsed Obama. Haass publicly expressed Vice President Palin would be way too inexperienced for the veep job.

Kafka noted that Bercovici’s story was pulled – not because it was inaccurate, but because Portfolio sponsored the panel discussion with the media investment group Quadrangle, which insisted on a no-press policy. Did Couric’s camp complain? Kafka thought the no-press policy was ironic for a panel stuffed with press. . .

I agree. It's a sad fact that a talker is far more electable than a doer, but it is a fact. The advantage she has over most other candidates is that she speaks from experience rather than as someone who is simply repeating what they've read.

Her speeches were so well delivered and received, her ability to adjust to hard core campaigning and deal with all the vicious attacks, her down to earth, grass roots work ethic and sports honed competitive spirit all leave me with little doubt that she can live up to most of conservatives' expectations as well as appeal to those who think of themselves as moderates.

Should she want to be a Presidential candidate, Palin has time to work on her rough spots and could easily be a force to reckon with in 2012.

Good question. Why do you need to handle Couric et al in order to be qualified to handle Putin or Achmedinajihad? You know going in that the terrorist trash are going to be tough to deal with and you know the same about their foreign counterparts. Why is it that conservative and/or Republican candidates have to put up with the Letterman, Couric, O'Donnel, Behar, Matthews ad nauseum litmus tests and the Communist and/or Democrats don't have to put up with it? Why aren't you directing your questions to the media and their democrat buddies? (Probably because you know as do I that its a waste of breath.) Having a standard for candidates, as you suggest, is fine and dandy if the same standard is applied to all of them. Many of the democrats won't do Fox News or Hannity's or other conservative format radio programs and forums and no one in the Republican and/or Conservative heirarchy calls them out with a valid question such as you ask. Fox may be flawed, but you see some debate from both sides which is missing elsewhere. Let the liberals talk to each other and perhaps people will tire of hearing the same old same old and tune them out. Look at what is happening to print media in large part because they each essentially editorialize the same things and reprint AP syndicated hate America first crappola people don't waste their time upon.

If I'm running the campaign, I'm still being very judicious on where I'm allowing my candidates to appear. A lot of Americans don't watch Couric and the rest so why bother with the people you already know are hostile in our country that watch them? You're not going to change their already made up minds anyway. Better to spend your time and efforts reinforcing your base and taking valid opportunities to enhance and expand it. Heck, go walk Joe the Plumber's neighborhood and respect him enough to really truly consider his question and intelligently answer it; not quote Carl Levin...er,uh Karl Marx to him. I don't think doing those shows changes any, or very many, minds if very many that watch those things can actually discriminate the crucial differences. I'm sure that if you're watching them, you operate under the keep your friends close and your enemies closer philosophy and God bless your efforts and your strong stomach.

Merry Christmas!

You’re welcome.

I’m so glad their newspapers are dying.
