> A grade of C-, with possibly a more favorable view in history? Thats wielding judgment and holding President Bush to a harsh standard?
Yup.
> Ive heard far, far worse from FReepers.
Not this one.
> Pat Robertson supported him.
With friends like that, who needs enemies?
> He has a right to criticize his performance.
Why? I bet Pat Robertson couldn’t do a better job as POTUS than GWB. Criticism might be fair if it came from Reagan or even Clinton. Or Bush Sr, even.
> God is not going to punish Pat Robertson for saying, and saying fairly gently by FR standards, that President Bush has been disappointing in several ways.
Just as likely God will say to Pat: “Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.”
Bush hasn’t had a perfect eight years. Nobody has. On balance, over eight years, GWB has done a much better job than either AlGore or John Kerry would have. You Yanks have been jolly lucky to have had GWB at the helm, considering your alternatives.
> As far as being pleased with Obama, I think hes being too charitable. But, there being no performance to criticize as yet, I suppose hes trying to be hopeful.
I find it difficult that a Christian such as Pat Robertson could have anything positive to say about a muslim that hangs around with terrorists and blasphemers. But then, maybe Pat sees something redeeming that I don’t.
No disagreement from me on this point, and I honestly doubt you'd get any from Pat Robertson, either.
