The almost muslim queen speaks....
I saw a story on Fox about our congressmen throwing out millions of dollars worth of furniture at the end of the congressional term. I have also seen that our congressmen has perks the Roman Senate could only dream of. The Speaker of the House flies on her own taxpayer supplied plane as does most of our cabinet.
Then we talk about the President. Kublai Khan in Xanadu didn’t get the perks that our President gets. Just one trip overseas means millions of dollars in taxpayer money spent.
On the other hand the Queen of England flies commercial or chartered. The Prime Minister lives in pretty much modest quarters for a head of a government and British members of parliament gets less privileges than members of the California legislature.
By concentrating the wealth and prestige of the government with the Queen and her family vs having about every member of government in Washington wanting to be treated like royalty I say the British taxpayer is getting a much better deal.
