That's an interesting possibility. If true, I'm still having difficulty imagining what Compean was thinking to accomplish. And sadly, Ramos probably fired because he thought Compean was in danger.

(And if Compean thought he was in danger, as he argued at trial, then why was he shooting to miss?)
