HONOLULU, Hawaii (AFP) US president-elect Barack Obama is "monitoring" the deadly violence in the Gaza strip while he is on vacation in Hawaii, a spokesperson said Saturday.
Obama, who takes office on January 20, "is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza," said his chief national security spokesperson Brooke Anderson.
Anderson however emphasized that "there is one president at a time," a statement Obama has said often since he was elected on November 4.

I guess he was busy giving depositions regarding his chief of staff’s sale of his soon-to-be vacated Senate seat and potetntially his connection with Tony Rezko, who purchased the Obama’s adjacent lot.
I wonder why the Daly connections, union connections, mob connnections, failed banks, Axelrod, campaign donations, shakedown commmunity activism, Jesse Jackson/Kilpatricket al, etc. all are ignored by the MSM...

"obama seems to spend his time campaigning to the next level, not doing his current job. What is he going to do now? He has no where to go..or hide. I bet he is going to be in the gym while others do the lifting ..."
You couldn't have hit it more direct with a laser sight.
obama is about the "show", not the "go". While the press is going gah-gah over his waxed, metrosexual chest , he's using the "gym" as his symbolic hiding place. I mean, after all...he doesn't have to answer the hard questions in the gym.
You are so right, and he was at his happiest and most clintonesque while campaigning; big crowds cheering and he soaked in the glory of the moment. But, the actual job will be his in a few weeks and we're all wondering if the Kenyan will be up to the task.
IF...if there are any bright moments, you can probably bet on the fact that one of his advisors came up with it, and then the press will see that obama gets all the praise.
He's just another liberal showboat, who thinks playing the saxophone or jive dancing is a presidential resume' enhancer. He wants to "make America 'cool' again"... whatever that means. Most of the time "being cool" is being a phony whose walk never matches his talk. Everytime I see obama speaking, I'm expecting him to start "rapping" or break dancing.
It's been my observation over the past 63 years that the harder a person tries to be "cool", when the mantel is lowered they're really the dumbest person in the room. I watch some of these game shows where they have celebrity guests...it's always the ones you thought were the "coolest" who can't answer a single question.
But, thanks to the SOS crowd (Stuck On Stupid), we're stuck with a J J Cool mannequin for 4 or 8 years, and all the symbolism that goes with jive turkeys.
It's "showboat" time in America...watch him shuck and jive...pay no attention to the terrorists marching in across our borders...just watch the "Kenyan" show on the main stage.

So is Obama going to give better directions to Hamas as to how to strike Israel back as a sign of the new change?

Has Obama ever gotten out in front of something, instead of sitting back, watching, and then criticising/improvising on what others are doing?
For a Prez-Elect who holds his own weekly addresses, you’d *think* he could spare a few moments on something this important...nah.

“monitoring” - Read that as “Like Clinton, I don’t yet know which way the political wind is blowing...” or maybe simply “I have no idea what an appropriate, Presidential, response to this crisis may be.” Just great, thanks all you O supporters for forcing our great Country to be led by a complete noob.

Haven’t his Buffalo Bobs told him what to think about this yet, and which hand gestures to make to an approving populace?
I know he’s not going to speak out in total support of our ally. He absolutely can temper it with a wish for a return to a cease-fire. I just wish he’d do it, but is heart is simply not in it.
