Peres: 'Anyone Asking Israel to Stop Shooting, Change Address'
Arutz Sheva ^ | 2008-12-28 | Hana Levi Julian

(IsraelNN.com) President Shimon Peres said in a statement released to the media Sunday that it is time for the world to understand that Israel has been more than patient in waiting for the people of Gaza to come to their senses.

Detailing all the agony and subsequent fallout of the 2005 Disengagement from Gaza, Peres said, "The story is simple. Israel has left Gaza completely… The passages were open. Money was sent to Gaza. We suggested aid in many ways – economically, medically and otherwise… Still I have not heard until now a single person who could explain to us reasonably: why are they firing rockets against Israel?"

He added that in planning the current Operation Cast Lead, the IDF had been "true to its principles: namely, to be precise in its targets and careful not to hit civilian life."

He noted that this was a complex problem, because many of the bombs were stored in private houses. "We have contacted the owners of the houses, the people that dwell there, and told them leave it. You can't live with bombs. We have to bring an end to the source of the bombs."

Peres added that Israel has no intention of returning to Gaza. "We left out of our free choice. We have never gone back to the idea of returning to Gaza. It's over," he said. "But we cannot permit that Gaza will become a permanent base of threatening and even killing children and innocent people in Israel for G-d knows why."

The bottom line, he said bluntly, is that anyone in the world who now wishes to ask Israel to stop the shooting, "they have to change the address. Let them turn to Hamas and ask them to stop shooting, and there won't be shooting."

Hamas Admits Majority of Casualties are Military Fighters

The Hamas terrorist organization admitted Sunday morning that the majority of casualties sustained in attacks by the IDF on Saturday were fighters from its military ranks.

According to the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), a news ticker running repeatedly from 10:00 a.m. announced, "More than 180 Palestinian policemen were killed, including the [Police] Commander, General Tawfik Jaber."

The news ticker is reportedly being broadcast against a background of scenes from the destruction of a graduation ceremony from a Hamas officer's course that was taking place when the IAF attacked.

Dozens of bodies of the uniformed Hamas "soldiers" who were killed in the air strike are shown in the broadcast, according to the report.

It is mind boggling to listen to the demonstrators in Toronto condeming Israel. There is no sense speaking logic to frothing-at-the-mouth terrorists. They, and their supporters are completely irrational.

“We have contacted the owners of the houses, the people that dwell there, and told them leave it.”

Israel is going to keep fighting new wars every 2 years with these sorts of tactics.

Yes. There is no sense being humane with the brutal. Just have done with Nice Guy tactics and start smashing them. The Brits used to say that Arabs were either under your boot or at your throat. We resist believing that any culture is like that, but it may be time, upon contemplation of the mountains of evidence, to consider that the Brits of old were right.

One solution is to wait until Palis love their children more than they hate the Jews. That ain’t gonna happen. It is time for the Palis to be reduced to abject fear of Israel.

Too bad Israel’s leadership has not the spine to do this.

Coming up: Intifada 4, 5, and 6.

They DO love their children more than they hate the Jews.

They love them so much that they want them to die as martyrs and rush off to paradise.

There's only one answer to this problem - more rubble, less trouble.

Hamas had its chance. And blew it. Big time.

I heard on abc news today that the scum-sucking leader of Hamas was complaining that the Israelis’ response to the rocket attacks were “disproportionate”.

For perspective, let’s remember that the Pali’s continue to hold a kid they kidnapped several years ago after burrowing into Israel under a fence. This kid is a soldier and was forcibly taken back to the Pali side and continues to be held, assuming he is still alive. I forget his name. These people do not deserve the respect one would accord a human, much less a loyal dog.

It is quite disproportionate in what Israel did as compared to what Israel is capable of doing.

Note to self: The next time I am getting my ass kicked in a fight that I provoked I shall immediately tell the man that the ass kicking he is giving me is disproportionate to my provocations. If he does not stop I will call Jimmy Carter and then he will be in trouble. :) /S

Hamas has brought this on themselves. Israel has been overly tolerant of Hamas’ feeble attempts at war.

Smash them with an iron fist.

Article: “The Hamas terrorist organization admitted Sunday morning that the majority of casualties sustained in attacks by the IDF on Saturday were fighters from its military ranks”

I’m stunned at their veracity here. I expected the exact opposite: For Hamas to claim that the death tolls were majority-civilian (contrary to all evidence).

These reports need to keep coming out.
good job. Israel was not the aggressor, they have remained very reserved.
If we in America were attacked by Mexico i would hope that we attacked back in defense long before what Israel has waited for.

They usually fail to report that Israel pulled back from these lands and handed them over to the Pallys, even using Israeli troops to evict Jewish settlers.

Then, just as predicted, the pallys launch all kinds of attacks from the newly occupied lands. So now Israel fights back to defend its truncated self. Not exactly the way the press reports it.

Nice touch and congratulations to the Intel folks who picked that little gem up.
