The MSM willingly whips up the anti-gun fervor. Recall recently how they handled the news of the NY cops search of Plaxico Burress’ home. My gosh! They found GUNS there! Oh, and one was a RIFLE!!! Yes, it was even a LOADED RIFLE!!!
While Burress may be a dumba$$, he is NOT Osama bin Laden. Yet they way the news reported it sounded like anyone who kept a rifle, much less a loaded rifle in their home, was a criminal terrorist and serious threat to all life.
For your information, in kalifornistan there is no gun show loophole. All firearms transactions at gun shows must go through FFLs. All private party transactions in commiefornia must go through FFLs.

I did state: Obama will close the so called gunshow loophole, reinstitute the AWB as well as other common sense gun laws.
That statement was meant to parrot what Obama, Pelosi & Reid have in store for us nationally. I didn't think anybody would construe that comment otherwise and I sure didn't think I needed an /s tag.

Too many want to bury their guns. Our guns will do no good if buried and not used against those who would deny us our basic rights.
I don’t believe we should bury anything except those who will come for what we have. Does anyone think that the BATFE, or any Federal agency has enough agents to forcibly take guns from those who will not give them up? The locals know better than to enforce any confiscatory laws. (Well, at least the locals in the fly over states.)
The only real way gun control can work will be if all gun owners simply bend over and grab their ankles when they come for our firearms. And you can be sure that 5 minutes behind our government will be every low-life thief, gang-banger, and general dirt bag ready to claim what he now considers his; everything you have, to include your wife and daughters if they are so inclined.
Well then, we need the Safe Use of Weapons Act of 2009. Wherein; a natural born citizen of the US must be able to field strip a weapon of choice, clean said weapon, and reassemble it (in good working order) before they can get a drivers license.
You definitely need to know how to shoot, and have proper respect for weapons before you need to know how to drive.

You wrote what I was thinking. My guns were legal when I bought them and nothing Barry does can change that. If some cheese-d*** in Wash. DC, Indianapolis or downtown Muncie (or on FR) thinks I’m going to turn them over, or bury them or put up with an illegal search, then he’s got another think coming.

the latest issue of BACKWOODS HOME magazine has an article by a guy who buried a Ruger mini-14 in a PVC pipe, and dug it up 15 years later, still in perfect condition. Lots of good information in that article on how to prepare the gun and what to put with it, like ammo and cleaner to take the preservative off the gun.
Very true. He will do exactly that. I'm sorry you assumed I had some agreement with that. I'm not exactly a newbie around here.
I do not have ANY guns or the things that come out of them. Not a one. Nope. Nothing. I had owned and used an old hand-me-down shotgun for decades before I learned from highly educated young people who had never seen a gun “in person” let alone touched one just how dangerous my gun was. I just did not know. But once I learned the truth, I got rid of it lickety split, and those bullitshell thingermajiggers, too.
I spent the small sum I got for my rusty old shottergun and couple of handfuls of those—what do you call them? “cartritches?” “ammonishuns?”—for a pitchfork, a torch, and gallon of kerosene. You know, something that seemed likely to be useful in the coming months.
