As a young Navy swift boat commander in Vietnam, Senator John F. Kerry was no stranger to the perils of hot pursuit in combat. He was awarded a Silver Star for beaching his boat after a rocket attack and racing ashore to chase down and kill a Viet Cong fighter armed with a rocket launcher. Nearly 40 years later, as incoming chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Kerry favors using hot pursuit against pirates in the waters off Somalia, but urges a cautious approach before US officials consider sending American forces to chase them ashore. Kerry plans committee hearings next year looking at the problems posed by piracy. The Massachusetts Democrat said a hot pursuit policy on Somalia's coastline is "long overdue." But he warns against any "haphazard, sloppy" military missions.

Once we chase them ashore, Kerry can then advise how to shoot the pirates in the ass with grains of rice.

Liberals and the Media apply ZERO common sense ever.
Hey John how did you get film footage of your Vietnam escapades?
and more importantly WHY do you have it?
and even more importantly WHY do you NEED it?

No, this is the episode where he should have been court marshalled for grounding his boat and killing a half naked boy while filming himself. Now you're completlty wrong about that. The filming was done the next day when he went back to the area and reenacted his expploit for the camera.

Apparently Kerry wasn't getting the expected mileage from this day old story (see
here) nor was he particularly enthralled with Andrew Miga's (AP author) inclusion of numerous references to the drubbing Kerry took at the hands of the Swift Boat Vets.
Leave it to the Kerry lapdog Boston Globe to "clean" this pap up just a bit.

I hate it when different sources use the same story, but give them different titles.
