I saw some Class III full auto machine guns for sale at a gun show in Utah a couple years ago. One shabby looking gun had a price tag of $14,000. I'll bet it cost under $300 when it was new, legal and commonly available.

That sets up a dangerous situation for when the kid is eventually released. Yes it does, but for whom? By the time the miscreant is released, the other guy will be a trained Marine, and given today's realities, combat experienced as well quite likely. And part of a Big Green Gang.

LOL, p.s. gun sales are out the roof. Glendale gun show in Nov, packed, had a heck of a time finding parking. Did join the NRA. The NRA needs our support.

If you have a hankering to launch some lead, the American Shooting Center in the Kearny Mesa area is a nice facility. I miss having an indoor range. I'd just as soon shoot outdoors myself. But to each his own. In fact I don't really like ranges in general. Some are OK, the Bullet hole in San Antonio, and the range in Aransas Pass where we had the 3rd annual Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot Humblegunner's video of the event (The goat was not at the range, but the cow and horse were.:) . The more spartan and informal the better, although here in Texas I do appreciate some overhead cover/shade. Kind of liked the one in Boerne Texas as well.

I have fired a shotgun as part of July 4th celebrations, From my driveway no less. But there was about a mile of nothing, except the railroad track, now torn out, accross the road. It was in town, but a very small town.
Every 4th and New Years, I find myself wishing I'd gotten that blank firing adapter for my SKS along with a few boxes of blanks.
The 4th is supposed to be celebrated with gunfire...just safely so.

But is it easy to make one that stops firing when the trigger is released? Easier than select fire. You make one that fires from an open bolt, like a British Sten or Soviet PPSh-41 or even simpler PPS-42/43, but without the single shot feature of the first two.

There's more than one. The Mira Mesa version is an Irish pub :-)

For the tipster. When released, the punk kid might track him down, now that he has his name.

For the tipster. When released, the punk kid might track him down, now that he has his name. By then, the tipster will be a US Marine, part of a big green gang, who watch each others' backs. And the kid will still be a punk, no matter how old he is.
