UNCASVILLE, Conn. - A Muslim inmate in a Connecticut prison has filed a federal lawsuit, alleging he has been denied meals that conform to his religious standards.
Ricardo Collins says officials are denying his right to freedom of religion by failing to provide meat that is "halal," slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law.
The 27-year-old inmate, who is being held at Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center, filed his lawsuit in U.S. District Court on Dec. 23.
Prison officials declined to comment, citing department policy on pending litigation.

US jail reaches deal on meals for Muslim inmates
VALHALLA, New York: A county jail has agreed to provide Muslim inmates with meats prepared according to Islamic law, ending a three-year-long legal fight.
Under a settlement approved by a federal judge in Manhattan on March 12, the Westchester County jail is serving four halal meat dishes a week for Muslim inmates who request them

Abid Raja of the left-wing Party (Venstre), thinks the most practical thing would be for the prisons to serve only Halal-meat, “Norwegians have no problems eating Halal-meat. If they want pork, they can have this as an addition”. More than a third of all prisoners in Norwegian prisons are Muslims. There are no prisons in Norway that offer halal-meat to prisoners.

“The most practical will be if the prisons only offer halal food, since then the kitchen avoids having to deal with so many different types of meals. Norwegians have no problems eating halal meat and if they wanted pork they could get that in addition. It will solve many problems,” thinks Abid Raja.
Raja says that this isn’t about satisfying a special group, since Muslims make up such a large group in the prisons.

Feed him on oats and water. Meat of any type is expensive, why should any prisoners be fed meat?
Give him 3 meals a day consisting of nothing but pork and pork products (Spam!). If he doesn’t eat then let him starve to death.

They should give this creep a smack in the mouth with a billy club, then ask him whether he still wants to waste the court’s time with his garbage suit. If he says yes, they should hit him in the mouth with a billoy club with just a little more force. The process should be repeated until he recognizes his error.
I would be the wrong one to administer this procedure because I would knock his freaking head off with the first swing.

They protect sex offenders too much in jail. Let him starve if he won’t eat what is put in front of him. The idea of saying he is a snitch is good though...
